Amazon.co.uk ReviewWith no fewer than eight couples vying for our attention, iLove Actually/i is like the London Marathon of romantic comedies, and everybody wins. Having mastered the genre as the writer of iFour Weddings and a Funeral/i, iNotting Hill/i, and iBridget Jones's Diary/i, it appears that first-time director Richard Curtis is just like his screenplays: he just wants to be loved, and he'll go to absurdly appealing lengths to win our affection. With iLove Actually/i, Curtis orchestrates a minor miracle of romantic choreography, guiding a brilliant cast of stars and newcomers as they careen toward love and holiday cheer in London, among them the Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) who's smitten with his caterer (Martine McCutcheon); a widower (Liam Neeson) whose young son nurses the ultimate schoolboy crush; a writer (Colin Firth) who falls for his Portuguese housekeeper; a devoted wife and mother (Emma Thompson) coping with her potentially unfaithful husband (Alan Rickman); and a lovelorn American (Laura Linney) who's desperately attracted to a colleague. There's more--too much more--as Curtis wraps his Christmas gift with enough happy endings to sweeten a dozen other movies. That he pulls it off so entertainingly is undeniably impressive; that he does it so shamelessly suggests that his writing fares better with other, less ingratiating directors. --iJeff Shannon/i

Classic nonsensebr /It has to be said, this is 100% unadulterated, trying hard to be slick and perhaps, perish the thought, even American, clap trap.
br /
br /It's the same script and formula in every film these lovies make, then they all slap themselves on the back, kiss both cheeks, and leg it to Cannes to their yachts and pimms and think up yet another pathetic film using the same script, which was never original in the first place.
br /
br /It's a bad version of friends, without the humour. If it was Monty Python it'd be a dead parrot.
br /
br /Puerile middle class dross. that says everything about the bubble most actors live in.
br /
br /The only thing that struck a chord was Liam Neeson grieving over his dead wife, art imitating life.
br /
br /But, this is not art, or life, it's empty rhetoric.
br /
br /One for the waste bin, better still don't waste your money give it to charity, it'll do more good.

Just gorgeousThis film is just beautiful. It's got practically everything you would want in a film - funny bits, serious bits, sad bits and the actors are all well chosen for their roles and act them well. For me, it's the best "feel good" romantic comedy since "Four Weddings and a Funeral". And it's one to watch over and over again. Definitely buy it/watch it!! :)

Love Actually is my new favorite holiday movie!A Feel Good movie! Wonderful cast, touching, funny, love the interconnected stories and relationships, all leading up to Christmas in England...just don't watch it with your 78 year old mother like I did!!! Some nudity, simulated sex acts, and the language can be a bit naughty.

br /One thing I disliked about the movie was the 'unloveable Fat girls' thread...Emma Thompson's and Martine McCutcheon's characters were supposed to be less than desireable because they were fat...of course they are not fat and so that seemed a little bit silly.
