Why Was This So Popular?
I cant quite understand why Toxic is considered a fabulous single. I mean Britney is a fabulous singer and has had her share of good and bad songs, but this does not impress me at all. In my opinion, it could easily be considered her worst song.brWhilst the tune is not awful, it is one that probably is so catchy that used subliminal messaging to increase sales, because it stuck in people's heads. Thus, it became her fourth chart topper. Despite looking extremely attractive in the video and showing she isnt the same schoolgirl she started off as, raunch is used to gain a chart topper, which is something I disapprove of. I can say this, because a lot of how a song is judged on noawadays is based on the video. The lyrics are a disappointment; Britney said in an interview that it was somewhat about being addicted to a guy's kiss. Personally, the song deafens me so much due to her electric vocals that I havent bothered looking at the lyrics. Her voice sounds awful on the track which is unusual, because on previous bad songs (like Boys), she has sounded half decent. Me Against The Music was a much better track than this with its concept of female domination and power. I am so glad Everytime was a fantastic follow up or else In The Zone would have been a desparate album in my opinion.

I didn't wanta like the single a' first, y'know, cos it's 'er. Burra can't 'elp thinkin' th'Bollywood strings bit is brilyan', an' the over-produced, to'ly ar'ifishal sound is super. The big question is, shurra I buy th'album o wo'? Advice please.

A decent single by a major artist...whats going on?
So there i am pottering about at home with the t.v. on some appalling pop programme based around the charts when on comes Britney singing "Toxic" and i,m so shocked at the quality of the song i actually stop pottering and stare at the box dumfounded.brI mean a really good pop song by a major artist, they,re as rare as a celibate footballer.The last one i can recall was Madonna,s "Ray of Light".I know Miss Spears(She is divorced now is,nt she?)did,nt write it but still. It has exotic strings and a memorable tune and generally has pop stradust sprinkled all over it.Even better for the first time i,ve heard, Britney does,nt sing like a cat spewing up a furball.Brilliant.Plus she looks hotter than Geaorgia ashphalt in the video.brBlimey,whatever next?.....Westlife covering Smogs "All your Womens things" or Will Young discovering the joys of God Speed you Black Emporer and producing twenty minute guitar driven epics?...Ahh welll i live in hope.

This song is the best!!!!!
After the disappointing and frankly desperate "Me against the music", I was sceptical about this song, but I was proved wrong. It is highly infectious, makes you want to dance, and you can't help but feel good when listening to it. 10 out of 10!

Fabulous song but not the remixes...
I bought this single because I love the song Toxic. I usually like hearing remixes of songs too, but I didnt like any of the mixes on this cd. I am now only listening to track one, the radio edit, the others are just a bad noise, unfortunately.pCongratulations Britney on becoming number one in the charts.
