the side project from hellits hip, its fun, its got josh homme on the drumbs, what more could you ask for. i was sceptical about about this album before i bought it. i thought it might not be that good, or worse that eagles of death metal would replace QOTSA, but they wont. its differnet but just as gooooood.

Not what you think...This is a great little album! Take Homme et al, add a little crushed Chuck Berry and force through a Country and Western bluegrass blender and bake in a dutch oven for an hour and you may get something like this. Theres the odd tinge of Jon Spencer on some of the tracks which isn't such a bad thing.. The songs are simple, catchy, different and stand being played again and again.

Ahhhh...Ear candy.I wasn't sure at first, but....pYes, It Is Rock'n'Roll And It Is Good.pNeed I say more?pThe dedication by Huge is a good clue: Listed include various Stones plus Cramps etc. There's blues in here, a hint of Big Black, a smidge of Canned Heat. Lovely.

Good Ol' Rock n Roll From QOTSA FrontmanWhen a record comes out from Queens of the Stone Age, lyrically and musically it has a world of its own, its witted, its great and songs like "No One Knows" has that swagger to it. When I picked up the latest edition of Desert Sessions, the last track gave snippets of upcoming albums, and The Eagles of Death Metal were on there.pI loved that song the moment i heard it, it was simple, short and groovy. The only thing that had me worried was whether this new guy (Jesse Hughes aka J Devil Huge)sounded that good as a whole on the record. I'm glad to say, this album is fantastic, the rock n roll is awesome and Jesse has the voice made for it.pJosh Homme makes good work on the drums to, his work on Flames go Higher and the cover of "Stuck In The Middle With You" (which in my opinion is a thousand times better than the Louise version) are undescribable, you just have to listen to them.pI suggest while you wait for QOTSA's Lullabys to Paralyze, grab a copy of Peace Love Death Metal, support the moustache, and rock on baby.

J Devil Not QOTSA's YokoThis album got bad press upon it's release as many ilogically blamed Jesse 'the devil' Hughes and the Eagles of Death Metal for Nick Oliveri and Mark Lanegan's departure from QOTSA. However it is fair to say that the wide panning the album received was undue.pThe incredibly catchy and well written opener "I Only Want You" sets the scene for this melding of Country and Rock. Other highlights include "Miss Allissa" and "Bad Dream Momma".pAs with many past releases involving Josh Homme this album suffers from the misguided interludes between tracks. As with past Dessert Sessions and Songs for the Death these only hamper the continuity.
