Now you see me, now you don't
I was a fan of the original splinter cell when it first came out. However what put me off that otherwise brilliant game was the very linear nature of the levels. Having played through the first level of Chaos Theory I can say that the levels appear less linear and there are more options available to the ever gritty Sam Fisher.
Gameplay wise I found the control to be a touch clunky - although I suspect this may be my PC showing its age and some tweaking of the game settings should fix this. The end of level stats give some replayability of the the "got to get 100%" variety, the game also seems to reward you with higher stats for taking a non violent approach which often gets you thinking in-game, "How do I get past these guards without kiling them and without setting off any alarms".
The sound is also very impressive, particularly so when played though headphones and will have you flinching when an unseen guards fires at your unprotected back.
The most impressive thing though is the shear array of moves that Sam can pull off to help him remain undetected and deal with the opposition.

On the negative side it would have been nice to be able to customise Sam's load out for each mission - you only get three options: "Assault", "Steath"; and a recommended setting. I also find myself missing the original Splinter Cell's training mission - what we get here are a collection of training videos. True they do tell you what keys to press to achieve which on-screen move but they are hardly a replacement.
Overall apart from some minor problems a great game that will have me sneaking past guards and ducking AK-47 rounds for some time to come.

once again, a must play!!
SPLINTER CELL CHAOS THEORY MATCHES ITS PROCCEDORS EASILY, AS WELL AS ADDING A WHOLE LOT MORE!! THE GAMEPLAY IS GREAT, THE CONTROLS WORK WELL, THERE ARE EVEN NEW WEAPONS SUCH AS THE KNIFE, WHICH OF COURSE MAKES THE GAME AT LEAST TWICE AS GOOD. ITS RELITAVLEY SIMPLE GAMEPLAY, BUT ITS GOT A GREAT PLOT, AND THE FUN WILL LAST FOR AGES BECAUSE OF THE LONG GAMEPLAY.
EVERYONE DESERVES TO EXPERIENCE THIS GAME, EVEN PEOPLE WHO DO NOT LIKE STEALTH GAMES!!
A MUST PLAY FOR ALL GAMERS.

Once again OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!
I have played the original Splinter Cell and Pandora Tomorrow and I didn't know if Chaos Theory was going to live up to them. Well it does and goes that bit further!!

Everything about this game is perfect! The graphics are spectacular! The movement flows and is as natural as it gets. The A.I. is pretty impressive. For example if a bad guy hears a small noise you make he won't immediatelly start shooting! He will come and investigate first! It is as realistic as I've seen in a game! They have added a couple of new weapons and gadgets in this game, like the knife, and it makes the game so much more enjoyable!!

This is a trully remarkable game ( as were it's predecessors)!! I guarantee that anyone who is into stealth games (and probably anyone who isn't) will thoroughly enjoy this game!!!
I can't wait to see What Splinter Cell: Double Agent will be like!!

GAME OF THE MILLENIUM
sneaking around in the shadows, silently cracking mens necks as they walk unaware of your presence, taking out guards with your bear hands who are armed up to their necks with weapons...

Sound like fun to you? Trust me, it is.

Splinter cell chaos theory is one of the most brilliant games i have ever seen. I am going to keep this short. Buy it and you will not be dissapointed... There you go i said it.

Best ever Splinter Cell
I have to hand the success of this game to the producers for they have integrated all the best aspects of the splinter cell series and rolled them all into this game and added even more great features!A truly magnificent game and achievement and for those who don't know the graphics are the best you could imagine and the you play are well crafted so there are several ways of completing the game so you can have a lot of fun! What I love about the game is its precision and how you can have so many meters so you can fell like the agent and be inside the game.I believe that the light and sound meters are a great idea and the co-op mode is fantastic. Its a must purchase game.GET IT NOW!
