Rubbish - avoidI agree with the other review, this is useless. I have a 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter. I entered in the ages, and expected the software to ask questions based on their age. Nope - the questions were identical. I spotted at least one mistake in one of the questions (it mentioned "John and James", then asked "how much does Jack have") which made it even more confusing. The games are AWFUL. Even I struggled to select the right answer, and so did my kids, they spent more time worrying about controlling the mouse in order to use the overly complicated games to select the right answer, often selecting the wrong answer because of the controls and not because they didn't know. As for the reporting feature, that too is rubbish. It's not accurate and doesn't give enough details to be useful.
The questions are badly written, the games are rubbish, this is going in the bin before it harms their confidence. It has clearly been written by a software developer with no children, and been released without proper testing.
Shame on the developers for letting this in to the public domain, I relly pitty any children who are being forced to use this by parents who think it is going to be good for their children. I honestly think educational software should be regulated by the government and have to pass controls to receive a licence before being stamped as "approved". This software certainly wouldn't make the grade.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The most appalling educational software ever???In the words of my 10 year old son 'The education is rubbish and so are the games!' I must admit that we have not tried all of this - it would be too painful. But let me share one 'learning' activity. You are asked about types of nouns. You work out the correct answer from a multi-choice list and you must now cross the road (as a hedgehog) and enter the correctly coloured burrow. If you get across the road and into the correct burrow you will be rewarded with a big red 'Correct!'. But you 'Lose a life' if you get it wrong (fair enough) or get squashed by a car. So if you are good at cross-the-road computer games you could get a better score than a child who answers correctly but has poorer mouse skills. If you get the hedgehog in the wrong burrow you will be shown the right answer but you (painful this) still have to cross the road. There is no explanation of why some of the answers (but at least that is common with most MCQs). Again in the words of my son 'If you were an absolute genius with lousy mouse skills you could get a score of zero'. If you were guessing and had great gaming skills you could do quite well. Except the games are so repetitive that no child is likely to want to waste skills on doing them more than once. And this is 'The Essential SATS Key Stage 2 pack'? Don't make me laugh. This one goes back in the box.
