it's all true
From the moment i first put this record on, it had me dancing and smiling. Upbeat tracks like the opener "Astronaught" and "Don't drop it" will have you body bopping around the house! That's not to say that there's no depth here; some of the mellower tracks are simply fantasic too (front porch lounger, loving me, waiting, sunshine). The basic theme is "slacker" hip-hop. A delivery that comes on somewhere between Jack Johnson and Beck, and at times some of the mellower moments from Everlast's "Whitey Ford Sings the Blues" LP. The real mixing pot of influences stretch through hip-hop, country, blues, jazz and even a little bossa nova on "Two Birds". The most impressive thing is how easily G LOVE incorperates them all to form such a cohesive sound. This is a real joy of an album. Since "discovering" Jack Johnson, I have read other reviews from his fan base, and that's how i discovered G LOVE. If you've followed the same path, click "add to shopping cart" now! This is an essential purchase.

A True "Polo"
The Hustle will not disappoint fans of G Love or the folksy-bluesy-cruisy genre. Shades of Donovan Frankenreiter, with a hint of Jack johnson and a slight Ben Harper flavour, this album is just too fun. You get the distinct sensation that it was fun to make as well.
G Love's profile has risen consistently, particulary through appearances with Jack and Ben at their gigs around the place, but in no way does he need these guys to feed off. With a slightly rougher edge than the aforementioned, G Love has combined the blues, folk, hip hop, rock and just about any other genre you can name, save opera perhaps, and melded them into his own brand of funk. Hard to pigeon-hole, but so damn easy to listen to.
Get on the back of this album - it is a true POLO - "Put On, Leave On" album. In short - you won't wanna skip any of these tracks.

G Lurve....
Love it love it love it! Yet again, G Love gives his best. Slightly different from his other albums, where Philadelphonic will always be one of his best but it comes close! Fun, lively and great for any time of day! Would recommend for anyone who enjoys that chilled out vibe. Got the makings of a classic album, an absolute must have.
I'm just confused as to why G Love & Special Sauce aren't bigger over here, so I feel its my duty to spread the love of G, so just BUY IT, you won't regret it!!
