Pretty Good But Some Faults
I managed to successfuly load NAV 2005 Upgrade but subsequently found that:

1. the Incoming and Portal subfolders in the Quarantine folder hadn't been created. Whilst I managed to correct this with the help of the Symantec Solutions website it was quite worrying at the time.

2. my printer response was considerably slower. As a result I now disconnect from the internet before printing anything as this is much quicker.

3. I've sometimes had difficulty with loading new virus definitions using Automatic Update.

Otherwise the product has performed well. However it would be interesting to hear if other users have experienced the same problems.

Excellent product to keep using year after year
I have been using this product for the last few years and I find it much better than its rivals. This product is simply an update from 2004 so if you already have this software but for 2004 then this is just the simple update which keeps your virus protection live for another 12 months. Cheaper than buying the whole version again, dont make the same mistake I did last year!!

Upgraded easily from NAV 2001
It's slower than NAV 2001 but it does more, for example providing protection from trojans and internet worms as well as the usual viruses. Trouble free installation and no problems running it up to now.

Falls into the 'may as well upgrade' category
I used to own NAV 2003 and when the subscription expired I thought I would try some of the free virus scanners out there like AVG and the Microsoft SP2 product.
I went back to Norton because:
- Norton is very unobtrusive; I found the free products had annoying splash screens. A quick message to say that the virus database has been updated and that is it.
- The virus scans are fairly quick - I did not benchmark with other products but it 'seemed' quicker
- Product support; it is good to be able to know that support is out there if you need it
- Extra features such as spyware protection

The one feature that I have had to switch off is the new Trojan detector. I found that I got an alert every time I logged onto a new Counterstrike:Source server. This got quite annoying so I have had to disable this function.

Good Product - Good Support
I have bought several of these for my customers (either upgrade or full, depending on the installation) and it always installs OK and finds the virus if its there. The upgrade version is valid even if the previous version is really old.

If you have a PC less than about 1.5 GHz or use dialup internet, I would recommend this antivirus program on its own. Norton Internet Security slows the PC down significantly unless you have a fast PC, also the downloads are large which takes a long time on dialup internet.
