A FUNNY MAN
I was never a big admirer of Dean Martin &Jerry Lewis but once Jerry started to make his own movies he was quite brilliant in my view . His facial expressions and that walk of his are unique ,it doesnt matter what the story line is to me I just find him really entertaining. Isaw THE PATSY about forty years ago now and it has lost nothing with the passage of time, my wife and I had a good laugh at this excellent film the other day . Jerry plays a would be pop singer of the 60s era managed by a motly crew of minor gangsters with some well known old faces in the cast( Peter Lorre ect) . I think its the best film he ever made, if your a fan of the man ,this one is not to be missed.

Wonderful Jerry Lewis Comedy!
This 1964 film directed by Jerry Lewis, who plays "The Patsy" is a wonderful comedy about the manipulation and fraude that passes by talent in the modern showbusiness...
Jerry Lewis plays a Bellboy who is chosen by a group of talent agents to replace a deceased star...only on the basis of his phisical resemblance with the dead one!
Arrogantly thinking that they can teach the Patsy to be a star they will learn a lesson about honesty towards the audiences.
This is one of those classic films that jerry directed for Paramount in the 60ths and, if not for all tastes...the conossouir will love Jerry and his gags, the sets, the inside jokes about american showbizz of the time, and the great suporting cast wich includes Peter Lorre in what i belive was is final film.
The dvd edition presents a good print of the film in the original widescreen ratio and with a few bonus including an audio commentary track with Lewis himself!
