Amazon.co.uk Review
Writer/director Pedro Almodóvar's dark, sexy Hitchcock homage is his best work since his Oscar-winning iAll About My Mother/i, and deepened by a sun-dappled sadness. Handsome, enigmatic Ángel (Gael García Bernal) arrives at the Spanish movie offices of director Enrique Goded (Fele Martinez) and happily proclaims that he's actually Enrique's long-lost school chum Ignacio--an announcement that is both less than convincing and more than it seems. A novice actor, Ángel pitches a semi-autobiographical screenplay in which he's determined to star, a revenge-laden reflection of the doomed love he and Enrique shared as boys before a paedophile priest cruelly intervened. The script, and the lost days it recalls, carefully unfurls into a series of brooding movies-within-movies and memories-inside-memories, which allow the sensual, multiple-role-playing Bernal to give the performance of his young career--among other things, he makes a stunningly convincing drag queen--and Almodóvar the opportunity to suggest, movingly, that people will pay any price to ensure that their stories are told. i-- Steve Wiecking/i

No subtittles removables
I found that two films of this box have english subtittles not removables, they are "tie me up tie me down" and "bad education". However you can read on their boxes... many options about subtittles that don't match with the films I mentioned (??). We have a problem here.

If you like Almodovar you'll love this
I am a huge Almodovar fan, and this boxset is a very neat presentation of some of his best films. I'd suggest you check IMDB for film reviews, and if any of his films are to your taste, then this boxset is perfect for you.

spotless direction
Almodovar collection; br /this boxed set is a journey through the unsayable and unexpected; it takes a partisan view of some of the more difficult behaviours, not to justify them but to expose all their consequences. We see loyalty, family, age, gender and sexual behaviour thrown into a spotlight with surprizing outcomes. Everyone should see it once.

A brilliant film
A complex, dark and intense drama - Bad Education has been accused of engaging the head rather than the heart, but I don't think that's true. If you see the centre of the story as being the determination of Ignacio to reach Enrique no matter what, then you will connect to the feeling at its heart. And the image (which Almodovar takes some care to place in your mind at the outset) of the dead motorbiker continuing to ride his bike towards some unspecified goal will begin to make sense and help you to make emotional sense of the film. It's a tragic story, but one that is not without its moment of "success". br / br /Bad Education is a brilliant film - dealing with difficult subjects - and it should have won more awards than it did. br / br /There are a couple of deleted scenes buried in the Extras which - unusually - I think should have been included in the film as they help to further clarify and explain it to the audience. The many and varied poster designs (also in the Extras) are likewise worth a look.

tie him up
I am only commenting on Tie me up , Tie me down . I did not enjoy this film at all , Take a girl hostage , beat her up and tie her up until she falls in love with you ? and guess what she does fall in love with him ! It is a film that really doesn't know what it wants to be . I was left not really caring what happened , I did not care one bit about the characters and I felt it was a little demeaning to women .
