Both albums are excellent, but Two days is packed with great, generally sad songs with some fine playing from JK's band. Bit of his Blood on the Tracks lost love album and every track fits. I believe Jon is gigging again now as well as running a business in North Wales. There's some stuff on youtube. There's no knowledge of Jon or his music in Ireland-the road to Tara begins at Holyhead, as James Joyce said. Honest music performed with passion.
No wonder no-one's reviewed this offering. Waiting on You is rockier than his previous albums, and already you sense his life is starting to spiral out of control. Two Days in Winter, by contrast, shows sings of him trying to find his ways back to earlier, softer, more melodic material. But in this album particularly, the impression is of someone who's been through a lot and is still very much going through it. The final track, with a lovely harmonica warble a la Bob is brilliantly simple and direct.

br /What makes both albums work, in spite of the cracked vocals here and there, are the brilliant chord progressions that have always been a feature of his music. Definitely worth having, and putting the effort in for.

br /The songs in the second album are particularly poignant as he has now come through - alive against all the odds - and is generating better music than ever.
