the stressful water dome
I purchased a water dome for my four cats. It never worked more than a thin trickle of water running on one side occasionally. br /I spent a lot of time trying to get it to work without any luck. br /I made contact with the manufacturer who asked me to send it back to them in the US as a registered parcel that will cost nearly as much as the machine itself. br /This machine was a waste of time and money.

Just great
The fountain is just great ! br / My cats drink far more water now, because it's always clean and fresh. br / One of them used to hit the water bowl, because he likes to drink moving water, and that would spill water all around. Now he stopped doing that and licks it from the dome. br / The first filter is lasting a bit over 3 weeks (must replace it this weekend)for 4 long-furred cats that are outdoor/indoor, so they normally bring in a lot of dirt and dust. I think that's quite economic, and way better than washing/refilling the water bowl twice a day. br / Tip for other people in Denmark: since the water here is too full of minerals, do not let a week go by without cleaning, or the calcarium will start building a crust on some parts of the dome. It's either that or using pre-filtered water, which would actually be better for the cats' kidneys. br / Definitely recommended !

Good but not great
I first bought a Cat-it about 4 years ago when I thought it looked cool. The cats really like it, seem to drink more than usual. It works ok for about 2-3 days then it starts gurgling because it runs out of water. My second Cat-it has just broken, for some reason I couldn't open it anymore. It is a brillant idea, but this model is old now, so I am looking for a better replacement. br / br /This one takes too long to clean and is not 'whisper-quiet'. If you have loads of time on your hands its perfect, if not filling a bowl up (30 secs) everyday is probably your best bet.

Absolute waste of money
We had one of these when our cats were younger, and it was a complete waste of money. It got clogged up with hair and dust, it was noisy, it needed a lot of cleaning and was difficult to clean, and the cats barely drank from it. In the end it took far less time and effort just to replace the water in their bowls two or three times a day, and doing that meant that they drank more.

shame the cats hate it!
I've tried several cat fountains, and for ease of putting together, cleaning and use I would give the cat-it 5*. br / br /Unfortunately my cats could not be less interested in it, and spend more time in the bath and kitchen sink than ever before! br / br /If you have less fussy cats, or kittens who don't yet know the merits of taps, or streams of water then I'd recommend this fountain - as its very quiet, keeps the water cool and is extremely easy to clean and refill. br / br / br /
