Amazon.co.uk ReviewIf the Game's G Unit-fuelled debut--the most anticipated CD of early 2005--is supposed to be the Answer like Iverson, then what was the question? Well, when an emcee gets to rifle through 50 Cent's Rolodex to hand-pick top flight producers Timbaland, Just Blaze, Kanye West) it's a can't miss scheme, right? In this case, uh-huh. "Westside Story" is Game's opportunity to remind crunk-come-lately's that his region is still rap relevant. On the Dr Dre produced "Higher" he snorts: "I got 'em (Impala's) in every colour, yeah I'm a known stunna." Yep, he's rich now too, and drives whips that cost more than most make in a year. It doesn't even matter much that he's a B minus rhyme spitter, or that he spends way too much studio time name dropping. His real life 50 Cent-esque narratives (been shot, involvement in "subterranean" activities) makes cuts like the introspective, Havoc-hemmed "Don't Need Your Love" with Faith Evans that much more compelling. Boasting a half-dozen plus other sure-fire hit singles including the Kanye burner "Dreams," few albums can match up to
The Documentary--the only Game in town.--

PfftThe album is good, I agree. The songs with 50 cent are very good. What annoys me though, is how many times The Game says "Dre" in The Documentary (37 times!!!). No offence to Dre but I think Game wants to bum him...

For the people who KNOW WHAT IT IS !Firstly if you are a g-unit fan get a life, Now thats boring and repetative music ( oh yeah with a whole load of SINGING and not rapping invloved ) but if you have no hip hop taste listen in. a lot has happened since the release of this album. The game is the only dude in hip hop since 2 pac who is reppin rap without selling out. OK he has pop tunes wich i feel comes from the whole 50 cent formula (the reason this got only 4 stars and not 5 . trust me buy this album and every mixtape of the game you can along with the dvd get educated on gangsta rap, stop looking for gay punch lines and rhymes that seem as if they take a week to produce a line. you will find out why 50 cent is the worst thing ever to happen to rap and why its g g g unot!!!

HES ALRIGHT-BUT NAME DROPS WAY TOO MUCH-2.5 STARSthere are some good points and bad points about this album, the good points are that the game has a good flow, a good voice which makes you pay attention, all the beats are very good, its cathcy, the choruses are good, and he raps about alot of different things, however, there are several things that stopped this album from being very good, and not just average, first off, the amount of times you hear the game namedrop is ridiculous, he cant go a verse without mentioning any member of NWA, kool g rap, nas, jay z, biggie or 2pac , it eventually becomes quite frustrating the amount he name drops, also, he does not have a particularly good multi-syllable rhyming scheme, his vocab is average, he has no good punchlines, metaphors or clever lyrics, and his ego is much too big for a rappper who just made his first album. I also dont like the fact the game glorifies being a blood(which i dont believe he was), if he really was a blood, he would realize how stupid it is to lead that sort of life, and he try and discourage it instead of glorifying it, also, the fact he claims so publicly to be a blood doesnt make sense, as far as im aware, being in a gang in america is illegal, so woulndt the police either arrest him or check out his background out to see if he really was a blood, plus, if he was a blood, its most likely he would be in jail or would have been to jail in the past, the game has got no crime record atall,so basically, this album is very average and the game is not a real blood, i would stay away from this

its game timeim so sick and tired of people critizing rapperz like the game who has extradionary talent but yet people say its repetive or boring wake up this 1 of the best hip hop albums in years and brings back the days of the chronic and n.w.a its an excellent album and great production from dre and kayne west and all the others who contributed to this album and made it as successful as it has been the game is the future of west coast rap and has great flow and charisma and i dont feel its about the money like some reviews have said he put a lot into this album and all the songs are off the chain especially the 2 collaberations with eminem and busta rhymes both hot songs no matter how hard some rapperz try youre always gonna get stubborn gits who critize but yet cant write songs or know there 1st thing about recording a song or experienced there life styles and hardships but anyway its a fantastic album
just listen to the previews from amazon and honestly u wont be dissapointed and u will be amazed to hear a hip hop album thats actually great unlike most over the past 2 years that includes 50 cent i would say from 2003 hip hop has gone down hill rapidly
