Pretty good.....
Okay, so the camera angles are rubbish, u get cuaght a lot offside at the start and it can get a bit frustrating. But if u actually play the game thru a few tournaments on hard, it actually becomes really fun as u have to use proper tactics like kicking for position. I'd buy it, Rugby 06 isn't THAT much better.

Unconverted Try
Rugby 2004 was aweful but better than 2001, in the same way 2005 is better than 2004 but still not great.

The big plus point is that this game can actually be fun to play (2004 was no fun at all) but there is no realism whatsoever. Forward play can work but just seems to be a slower way to score than giving it to the backs. No skill is required to defend as players preform superman style tackles aslong as they're within range.

The main problem is that the camera options are so poor and none offer a way to use every aspect at the same time (i.e. there is one that means you can run well but kicking is impossible and visa-versa).

Even the presentation which is usually EA's strong point is poor and looks no better than many PS1 games.

The one thing that I aplaud EA for is the inclusion of a Lions tour. You can tour all the tri nations and even get to select the squad (something that you can do for every international tournement).

Buy this is you really need a rugby fix or for some 2 player fun but it can get very fustrating!

Olly Norgate from Cherry Burton
This is probably the best rugby game ever made, the graphics are decent and it is not very difficult to use

Although it hasn't realy improved much in terms of what to do and what the controls are from rugby 2004 i still rate this the best rugby game made so far.

Rugby 2005 is the best
My name is John Pa'a and Iam 13 and I go to Rutherford Intermediate school. I think Rugby 2005 is the best because you can Choose the International countries and create a player to represent your team. I really enjoyed reading your reviews and
will quote your comments in my speech to persuade kids at my school to play Rugby 2005.

The best so far
This rugby game is the best I have seen so far. After the shocking rugby 2004 I was really wondering if EA would ever get on track again. They did. This game is fun too play and the AI is much much better than in Rugby 2004.All aspects of the game seems to be working better. If you play on HARD you will have low scoring game with AI coming at you. Also you will need to play the long game (20 min).Much better than Rugby 2004 where I could kill them in the first half by doing the same tactic over and over again. No bugs as far as I could see!Have loaded the patch.Works well.In short.YES the best rugby game out there.Buy it.You won't be sorry.
