Alright, so there aren't that many extras, but who cares?

The quality of the material is what matters and this is where Love Hina scores pretty high. Although the series doesn't quite offer the depth and complexity of the manga, it does fairly well. For those who have read the manga in particular, the nature of the relationship between Keitaro, Naru and Mutsumi only begins to be explored here and scratches the surface, where the manga talks about things in much more detail.

The main reason for this relative lack of depth, I think, is that this is only because more series were intended to follow to provide that closure. Judged on its own merits the Love Hina anime is funny, sad, cheeky and good-natured in its progress. This volume in particular manages to press all of those buttons.

Still, on its own it really is quite emotiionally powerful and, in the case of episode 21, at times excruciatingly funny, when Keitaro is invited out on a date by Mutsumi and Naru's jealousy gets the better of her.
