Simply Brilliant
This is an incredible show that needs to come back as soon as possible. After the first episodes you just get addicted to it-such a great show, too bad Fox cancelled it..

Tru calling
A great series and well worth the £7 that i paid for it
shame that FOX tv are stupidly blind and removed it from air so you never get to find out what happens at the end
you get 2 episodes into series two and it ends!
stupid!!

Fantastic but cut short too soon
I absolutely loved every single episode of both seasons of Tru Calling. I've always liked Eliza Dushku from Buffy and felt she was a very likable lead as Tru, I also loved her on-screen brother, Harrison, who is a somewhat 'lovable rogue'.

With each episode of Tru calling, you feel you are there solving the mystery with Tru when her days rewind. Each episode is filling with suspense and twists and truns - many a time I felt myself shouting at the TV due to things that happened on Day 1 but not Day 2 that Tru never even discovered!

I liked the introduction of Jack Harper, the opposing force of 'Death' to Tru's 'Life'. He was cocky and cool and often frustrating but I still can't decide whether I love or hate him. A particular favourite episode of mine was on Season 2 - 'The Last Good Day' when a girl actually asks Jack for help as opposed to Tru - you get to see a bit more of a compassionate and human side to Jack, which is very nice.

The fact that Seaon 2 ends so abruptly is devastating. There are so many loose ends that need to be tied up and I felt the series had so much more going for it it seems a great pity as every epsiode hooked me I cannot understand why it was cancelled. What a shame that Tru's story will probably never be finished.

Great series - would definitely recommend, but a great tradegy about how it ends.

100% pure Tru Eliza Dushku goodness!!!
I was sceptical as anyone would be when it comes to buying the DVD to a show that was AXED! My original and shallow reason was I love Eliza Dushku, but upon buying this and watching it I got to love the show and curse those FOX WANKERS! who axed this. The series starts out a bit slow echoing shows like Quantum Leap, First Edition and movies like Groundhog Day but after this feeling has gone you get to see how smart and clever the episode are. If nothing else this is really good value, the complete season one and the first and last episodes of the second season and series. Try out these shows that were unjustly axed:
FIREFLY, THE LONE GUNMEN, ANGEL, POINT PLEASANT.

They should have completed season two.
The first series was great. It had an original premise, a young woman working in a mortuary is asked by dead people to relive the previous day to save or help them. It had strong characters played by good actors, the right amount of tension, humour and pathos but even as a fan it was clear that simple idea could not have been sustained for too long. They threw in so many extra twists with Tru's parents, with Davis her boss at the mortuary knowing her mother and the last scene at the end of season one threw a real spanner in.
The second season expanded on the concept of a counter-force to Tru, someone who was there to ensure that the dead stayed dead. That character, Jack was not evil, he was just there as a balance.
Like the Surface DVD this could have done with a film where the execs responsible for the cancellation explained their reasons. As regards Tru Calling why cancel the second series of a show whilst it was in production even before it had aired? I would have liked to have seen the second series completed, as it was the last episode does aim to have a conclusion of sorts over a Christmas party.
On the whole I enjoyed the show. The extras are Ok but not earth shattering but I guess interviewing people about a cancelled show would have made the studio uncomfortable, although it might have been good viewing.
The show was cancelled in favour of another fantasy series Point Pleasant and spookily that relived the fate of Tru Calling by being cancelled early.
