The Gauntlet
I bought this video on account of the reviews in Amazon. My Tai Chi teacher had said it's difficult to get good videos, but I felt I needed something to help reinforce my practice at home.
I think this is better for people who have little or no knowledge of tai chi, a great and simple introduction from which you can really gain benefits. I can just say for myself that with a couple of years experience (really still a beginner) my expectations were a little higher.
I think that attention could have been made to synchronising breathing patterns and movements, as the more I've practised the more I've realised the benefits of breathing in time helping you to feel "the chi" energy movement.
Solely on an aesthetic basis, the plant pots in the studio are more cumbersome than atmospheric to be honest!

Finally, the gauntlet... if this is one of the best Tai Chi videos around . who's going to make a better one?

This works
I bought this for my mum & dad. My mum's been in the chair for a few months, finding it hard to breath and feeling shattered (due to Diabetes). Well, mum & dad have been doing this for a month and what a difference. My mum is energetic, her breath is much better and she has a new zest for life, as for my dad...well he's well into it. I have a copy and I love it. I'll give you an example: you know when people walk in to you i.e out shopping etc, well a few have walked in to me lately but something very strange has happened - they went flying and I used no force whatsoever, in fact one woman did fall over. I think this Chi is serious stuff and well worth the time and effort to study it. I reiterate; we all feel fabulous - honest!

Never felt so relaxed
This DVD is brilliant. I get quite stressed in my job but doing this DVD helps me to stay relaxed. It's really easy to follow and everything is explained properly. Definately worth buying if you need some relaxation in your life.

I wish I'd found this years ago........
This DVD is excellent. It's always difficult to try to learn this sort of thing from DVD, but this must be as good as you can get. The instructor is easy to listen to and gives clear instructions and the sessions are very enjoyable. Best of all, since I started doing this I have found myself getting far less uptight about the little annoyances in life!

Good for all ages
The DVD is very enjoyable and easy to follow. Although I have never been to any tai chi classes before (and I do think to be taught by a master in person is the ideal situation). However, I think this DVD goes a long way into teaching the basics and really helps with everyday stress, winding down after along day and relaxation. My six year old daughter really enjoys it and we have incorporated it into a regular actitiy we can both do before bed and on the weekend. The Dvd is filled with many set seqences and exercises. Somtimes it is a bit difficult to see what is going on due to camera angles (plant pot in the way) but over all I would recomend it.
