This nunsploitation effort from Joe D'amato was much better than i expected and i actually found it a really entertaining watch. I'm not usually a fan of this particular genre but this had a surreal and haunting look and sound that i really liked. The music was great and went brilliantly with the sex and eroticism that comes regularly (the vast majority is soft core but it goes a bit harder towards the end). If you're expecting the gore as well as the sex like you get in "Emanuelle and the last cannibals" and "Erotic nights of the living dead" you will be disappointed as there's pretty much no blood here at all. There's a sense of mystery to the film and D'amato's photography is impressive and he creates a good atmosphere. It's in Italian with English subtitles but it seems about half the film contains no dialogue anyway.
What confirms the 4 star rating is this 2 disc dvd release. It contains a great documentary on Joe D'amato showing clips of his work and he also talks about many of his films. There are also trailers for loads of his films.
