Outstanding bit of Kit!!
If you buy one accessory for your TomTom - Buy this. I get signal lock before I leave the drive and have 8+ satellites all the time. Superb!!!!!!

External antenna yes but internal?
Works in my clio 1999 like a treat when outside the car. But at the minute I put it inside the signal goes away or gets reduced to 1-2 bars. I understand that it is equally powerful inside or outside the vehicle, I would say by personal experience, stick with the outside option.
All round it is a really good product, as I can use my tomtom 300 again.

Do yourself a huge favour and get this
Because when you are in an area with lots of high buildings you can sometimes lose the signal and completely lose your way. Don't forget, the idea of having a sat nav in the first place is so we don't get lost

Cheaper than replacing your car
My Citreon C5 has an athermic windscreen, rendering my Tom Tom Go 300 virtually useless. At £50, this antenna is not cheap, but it does do what it says on the tin, namely enable those of us with heat-resistant windcreens to run Tom Toms perfectly. I installed mine on the exterior of the car, at the top of the boot door; the antenna is powerfully magnetic, so I haven't lost it yet, though it does worry me slightly that it'll fly off one day! It can also be installed inside your car for those worried about this.

watch compatibility
be careful when choosing this! make sure your tomtom is compatible! my tomtom is "original" although it does not say it on the box; this aerial boosts the signal perfectly, however because the connections are different, the cigar lighter connection does not charge the battery. in order to do this you must plug directly into the tomtom. bit of a pain and defeats the object !

otherwise, signal boosting is brill and now i dont get drop outs going through bad areas. still gotta test it in london though....
