Batman legacy
I've alway found batman to be a very warm and heart beleaving film collection It not only cover the action and adventure but it cover love and friendship, and I like that.

the batman boxset
disgruntled - 2 identical films thus 1 missing - gave the spare film to charity and purchased the missing 1 separately - not particularly happy with seller as you can imagine - did not spare time to kick up

Not the Dark Knight, but still good
With the current Batman craze because of the Dark Knight, it was time for me to re-visit these movies. For me these are still good, especially the first 2, however not the Dark Knight I am afraid to say. These movies are more like the Comic Book Batman before the Dark Knight re-invention, and do have that more superhero comic book feel with some homage to the TV series. This is even more evident because of the new movies which have a much more sinister and 'real' feel to them. The new movies very much set Batman in a 'real' world setting, makes you feel that maybe this could happen, wheras this series is very much more fantasy, with the feel of Gotham City, the gadgets and the enemies. This is best highlighted with the difference in the Joker Characters.... in these movies he is a creation of the Batman and really over the top, but in the Dark Knight he comes across as a 'real villian' who has gone crazy. Another big difference is in these movies, which I had forgotten, is that Batman actually kills the bad guys, whereas in the much darker new movies, he never does...... Overall these are still good to watch, and at this price a must have for the DVD archive!

Batman-1 Disc versions DVDs
I am rather surprised by the negative ratings of this set. It is quite clear that it contains the one disc versions, and if, like me you just want the first four Batman films then this set is a brilliant, very cost effective way of getting them. br / br /All films are presented in Dolby 5.1 surround sound which, particularly on the last two discs, is extremely effective and really adds to the films. br / br /I enjoyed all four films but in different ways and for different reasons. "Batman Forever" and "Batman and Robin" are far more like the sixties TV show, which I don't find a bad thing as they make fun, entertaining viewing. The first two Burton films are darker and probably closer to the original comic (although I must confess I haven't read the comics!); however I found the constant juxtaposition of 1930's stuff with modern stuff really quite jarring and distracting and it added nothing to the film. br / br /I've got countless 2-disc DVD sets of films and often the second disc is boring and for me only ever merits playing once (if at all!) so I am very pleased to have the 1-disc versions of the first four Batman films in my collection at a bargain price! br / br /
