Stunning!
i recently purchased the 222W model whisch seems to have been sold out on amazon and all other sellers. A friend of mine, on the other hand also has the monitor featured on this page and its performance is amazing.
His monitor is hooked up to his PS3 and the results are very satisfying.
The price of the Acer monitors are extremely good and dont reflect the quality of the monitor itself. i would have been happy to pay more for my acer screen.
I wouldnt let the price put you off at all and i recommend this monitor to anyone who wants something to; use with PS3, update previous monitor or enhance their laptop experience.

Absolute perfection....... just plugged it in,changed resolution settings and we're off.... easy as that. Really sharp brught picture.... couldn't ask for more!

Excellent balance between quality and price
Hi,

Ordered this recently having read the reviews for the 'VGA-only' Acer X222W monitor, which is almost the same as this one. I wanted DVI which the 222 doesn't support, I had to pay an extra £18 for the adaptor from Apple.

I ordered it at 1am on Friday morning, with a promise it would arrive at 9am on Saturday. It arrived at 9:15am. This is no surprise really, Amazon seem to deliver when they say they will, or earlier. So good for them. I don't expect anything less from them anymore to be honest. I looked shabby after a long night out, and the courier didn't blink an eye.

What's it like. I wanted a second monitor to run dual-display on a standard MacBook. Plugged it in to the Mac, switched the monitor on, and hey presto it appeared dual diplay at full resolution within a second or two. I honestly think the setup time was less than one breathe. There wasn't a setup. It just worked. Its going to take longer to peel the 'certified for Vista label' off.

It looks nice. Narrow frame, innocuous stand, which although not as solid as the pyramids, isn't really a problem. My desk doesn't wobble, and neither does the monitor. Its rock solid, and a decent height, although not height adjustable. It goes well with my black MacBook.

Quality wise, its superb. Bright, almost too bright, I've turned down the settings to 'text' mode so that its a little duller. But that's my personal preference. No evidence of pixel bleed, everything is bright and sharp. Colour balance is similar to the MacBooks, although I'm not a print professional. I wanted something for coding and looking at lots of text, not for watching videos or playing games. Having said that, video playback is superb. I've just realised that the BBC's iPlayer, when watched from across the room, is a fantastic resource and now understand why video on demand will work one day. Apple's film trailers look superb from 3 feet away.

If I'm ruthlessly honest, its not quite as sharp as my Macbook's screen, which just seems to have the edge on definition. And Apple's cinema displays seem to be a 'tad sharper' (and significantly more expensive). But that's being pernickety. This is a really good monitor to work with. I found myself wondering why I hadn't ordered the 24" version which supports another degree of resolution entirely, and then realised it would have cost me an extra £110. So in terms of price v quality, this is superb. I can now see why everyone else seems to have voted so positively for it.

If I had unlimited cash I would have bought an Apple display for the extra sharpness, but I haven't got the money, and this is perfectly adequate.

Oh, 3 year warrantly, and low power consumption. So at the very least that's £50 a year for a huge amount of extra screen space. Definitely a winner in my book, I may well buy another one, a Matrox driver unit ,and run 3 monitors simultaneously (2 Acers and the laptop.)

This monitor arrived by free post today within 24 hours of ordering. It worked immediately when connected by DVI. There are no faulty pixels and no detectable pixel bleed.

The User Manual, included on a CD and written in pidgin English, could have been clearer and more accurate. However it only took a couple of minutes to work out how to adjust brightness etc.

There are two versions of the Acer P223W. Only the P223Wbd has the DVI input in addition to a VGA.

Nice one, Acer
I got one of these screens a few days ago and have used it pretty much continuously since with absolutely no problems. The stand fitted with no trouble and the tilt works just fine, it plugged and played straight away and had no dead pixels, the controls are unobtrusive but not fiddly to use should you want to adjust the display.

I really can't find anything about it to criticise at all - it's just a really nice monitor.
