50/50 Bogey Box
A typical box set, with two gems and a couple of clunkers - but they are all Bogart, so great for fans. br /In A Lonely Place and Dead Reckoning are both classics, the laconic but steely persona Bogart worked so hard to perfect being perfectly captured in the two (very different) character portrayals. Good stories, good supporting casts and crisp scripting in both of these satisfying films. br /The other two are less so. Sirocco has its moments but leans too heavily on past references (especially Casablanca) and plods along a cliche'd path. The Harder They Fall sees Bogey looking old and struggling to care (it was his last film) about a weak story, though his world-weary journalist is a highly believable portrayal. br /If you can get it for a good price, buy this box set for the two classics and get two "B" features in support.
