There are many nice themes, and four humourous songs. However I don't consider the cd as being as audible as The Nightmare Before Christmas, so new Danny Elfman/Tim Burton-fans should maybe start with that one, but as a fan, i must say, that coprse bride is indeed worth the money and very touching. It is mostly meant to be film music, but deserves to be heard seperatly also.
Danny Elfman has excelled himself once again with this beautiful piece of music, in which he uses styles from many of his other works. This is ultimately one of his best film scores in the last 10 years. My personal favourite is 'The Piano Duet.'
Elfman has very much returned to the song writing style he used on A Nightmare Before Christmas with Corpse Bride's songs, and on one track - Tears to Shreds - matches it so closely it's hard to tell them apart.
However, as a huge fan of Elfman's work on Nightmare and his other Burton projects I can forgive a little familiarity to be allowed to return to his magical world once more.
Recommended, but don't expect any new ground to be broken.
