GACKT'S NOT OLD!
This product is a single to warn you and as such is very expensive, the two songs are brilliant, but the price is a little high. This is Gackt in his cornrow stage lol. His music seems to influence his hair or vice versa. Gackt has done every genre of music going, this is his metal/rock stage and it is wonderful. Great for J-Rock newbies

Excellent Songs, but this is an single!
Do not be put off by by my contradictory rating, the two songs on here br /(Redemption and Longing) are great, yet this is not an album, it is a single, and at 10 pounds that isnt worth it, unfortunately amazon(uk) has a rather meagre selection of jrock goods, so yes, good songs, but downlaod it for free or look elsewhere. br /track listing- br /1. REDEMPTION br /2. LONGINNG br /3-4- these are some odd karaoke version of the above

One of the best theme songs for a game - Redemption
I do think the gentleman reviewing this product before me is probably biased in his opinion of age. 32-34 is not "old". It's the gap between youth and middle-age. I'd not call one middle-aged until they are at least 40. Early thirties is still fairly young, in-fact. br / br /Anyway, Redemption is a fantastic song, especially for its purpose as highlighting the feelings of the main character of Dirge of Cerberus, Vincent Valentine. Although a side/optional character in Final Fantasy VII, Vincent actually played a vital role in the game's back story. In FFVII he was a character that simply joined you and didn't really play much of a part otherwise, and I suppose this is why the game was created with him starrig as the protagonist. The lyrics in Redemption, if you look them up on google, state clearly this character's feelings, and the emotion in the song flows. I don't think it would have worked so well if it wasn't metal. br / br /I think Gackt has done a really good job.

Longing
The song LONGING on this CD needs a mention. Redemption is great and its even better live....see Diabolos Tour 2005 DVD......but LONGING has got so much movement in it it seems to pick you up and take you for a ride. Everything by Gackt is great, and if you want to stay the course be prepared to change and grow too, because its about observing and listening to the growth, the play on words and the visuals. Depth is required. It is always obvious, even in the Redemption Music Video, that a lot of effort goes into everything that is produced.....and thats nice to tune into isn't it?

Gackt!
Gackt is my favourite male artist. Although now i have somewhat felt he has let me down, falling into the record companies chanting embrace. "Do what sells.. do what the teenagers want". Gackt i know is getting old, although if you ask his age he will inevitably say "i am a 400 year old vampire", he is actually 32-34 years old, yes he does look good for his age doesnt he? whats your point i hear you say. Well my point is as follows: Gackt started off with Mars, after his camp role in Malice Mizer, he kept his sweet, gay but not gay image to keeo hold of his fans, but progressivly, or actually REgressivly Gackt got more and more rocky, and less inventive with every album, starting from Cresent. Diablos is borderline NuMetal with its heavy riffs and strong vocal background, it makes me sad that he isnt really using his superb pianistic skills or classical composition anymore and that really made Love letter and Mars a brilliant listen for me. But now Diablos is fitting in nicely with other bands such as Moi Dix Mois and Blood, to create the new breed of modern Japanese music, very westurnised, very simplistic, not what hard core fans would be expecting, and im sure not what they want either. Im dissapointed but hey, he matured. Who doesnt? apart from Mike Skinner.
