Eddie Fisher The Next One Hundred Years is in a class by itself. Beautiful Things is my favorite track here offering savory violin and mind-blowing guitar. I've never heard such an arrangement of jazz, classical and funk. pAnd then there's Jeremiah Puckett. Smooth and funky and just bloody delicious and infectious grooves here. It's got to be one of the best records from the CHESS library. pMy only complaint is that the recording is not longer. It definately leaves me wanting more. Very original style of jazz and worthy of greatness.pEddie Fisher The Next One Hundred Years is an instant classic.
I had only heard of Eddie Fisher through the Charly CD compilation "All Platinum Funk". On that CD the standout track was Cosmic Blues. That track alone was the reason I bought the CD.pEddie Fisher The Next One Hundred Years is a kind of psychedelic collage of brilliant jazz/funk guitar. I've never heard such billiant use of the wah wah on any record. Totally mind blowing sounds from a relatively unheard of artist in the UK. Jeremiah Pucket is such a gem with its solid arrangement and groove driven bass. I've heard East St. Louis Blues before. It was featured on Andy Votel's Music To Watch Girls Cry. Great artistry and mastery of the guitar. A really wonderful record.
Wow,pall I can say is that this is a bloody wicked CD. Eddie Fisher The Next One Hundred Years is a kind of fusion of jazz, funk and classical music. Yeah I know it seems a bit odd but for this CD it works. My favorite track is Jeremiah Pucket. This is one totally fantastic record. It's got this wah wah guitar licks thats kinda sassy. Sorta like a hooker that teases you and then tells you that you ain't man enough. I know that's one hell of a description but its true. And then theres the Land Of Our Father track. Britain's own Ronny Jordan wishes he could play like this. Great guitar playing here almost genius. And then theres the composition Beautiful Things that doesn't seem to fit on this CD because it starts off with a classical violin. But alas it's a 12 minute smoker that goes right into that funk groove that seems prevalent through out the CD. This is a huge discovery for me. I love really alternative music and this fits the bill. Eddie Fisher is one wicked guitar player. I highly recommend this CD.
