Great movie, I hadn't seen it since I was a kid, I went to see the Buddy Holly Story show and it reminded me of this film.
It tells the life story of Ritchie Valens, a Venezuelan who moved to the USA with his family. By the age of 17 he had numerous number 1 hits such as 'La Bamba', 'Oh Donna', 'Come on Lets Go' and 'We Belong Together'.
He took the country by storm and set a new benchmark in the music world, singing his last ever song with Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper on Feb 2nd 1959 before all three tragically died in plane crash the following morning.
This movie shows the not so glamorous side of his life, the problems he encountered and story behind Donna, his childhood sweetheart.
I highly recommend this movie.

Amazing
Well i put 4 stars cuz i watched this film as a child and i was so impressed by it even as a child and i always think about this film. So glad to hear its out on DVD.
At a low price like this what have you got to lose it is a classic and awsome film
