martina cole , double bill
i was a bit reluctant to buy the dvd after reading the book because they are never as good , but i absolutely love all of martina cole's work so thought i would give it a try . i wasn't diappointed the dvd compelling viewing, but i think it made it better having read the book first and putting a face to all the characters

utter rubbish. giving it 1 star because there is no 0 star option!
i found both dangerous lady and the jump to be nothing more than an insult to the books.

the acting and production values (particularly in dangerous lady) were so completely grating i couldn't stand to watch.

i honestly think that they're such great stories they deserved to be translated to film faithfully and with appropriate budget.

i cringed my way through this DVD, and, i know it's a small point, but maura is constantly referred to as a blonde all the way through dangerous lady and maura's game and in this tosh she has jet black hair. this annoyed the life out of me the whole way through.

in all honestly, if you're a fan of martina cole, steer clear of this.
if you've never read either book you might be able to stand it.

ACTION PACKED VIEWING
A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE CRIME THRILLER FROM THE CRIMINALS POINT OF VIEW. SADLY NOT AS GOOD AS THE BOOKS BUT STILL GRIPPING VIEWING. THIS DOUBLE DVD SET FEATURES 2 FOUR HOUR LENGTH DRAMAS THE JUMP AND DANGEROUS LADY. ANYONE WHO HAS READ MARTINA COLES BOOKS WILL KNOW HOW GRIPPING AND INVOVLVING THEY ARE WELL THESE DRAMAS ARE BASED ON THE BOOKS THOUGH I MUST ADD WITH SEVERAL CHANGES BUT HEH THIS HAPPENS WITH MOST SCREEN ADAPTATIONS OF THE BOOK.
MY MUM WHO HAS READ BOTH THE BOOK AND VIEWED THE PROGRAMMES CANT RATE IT HIGHLY ENOUGH IF YOU LIKE A GANGSTERS MOLL TYPE DRAMA THEN THIS IS FOR YOU STRONG INDEPENDANT WOMEN TAKING MEN ON IN A VIOLENT CRIME FUELED WORLD AND WINNING GREAT VIEWING

brilliant films, just a shame about the editing
I have read both these books as i am a big fan of martina cole.
But was very dissapointed by the way they have made these films.
The films thereselves are great, nothing on the books though.
But it's the editing of the actual films. They have been recorded of the tv, over several weeks. But the havent cut out all the words coming up at the end of each programme. Its like a series just been transfered on to dvd.
Which is a real shame, as the stories are fab.
And the films dont go on as long as the books, so they end a bit weird. Probably not if you have never read the books.
But dissapointing if you have.
