In a nutshell:
From the battlefields of WWII to Vietnam and the present day, the awarding winning online series goes back to the future where the M-1 Shermans have been swapped for giant battle walkers.

The lowdown:
Swedish developer DICE aren’t predicting a happy future for the world as the European Union fight it out with the newly formed Pan Asian Coalition for the last remaining resources on Earth. Never mind about the politics though as you take control of high tech weaponry never before made possible in a Battlfield game, including walking robot tanks, futuristic aerial gunships, high speed antigravity recon vehicles and more. On foot you get to use EMP grenades, sentry guns, smart mines, cloaking devices and more as you jump in and out of vehicles at will. As ever the game is primarily an online affair but experience this with a full squad of allies and you’ll never want to play alone again.

Most exciting moment:
The best new mode of the game is called Titan where you have to destroy the opposing team’s giant flying warship by first taking down its shields and then boarding it to destroy its inner core.

Since you ask:
The multiplayer mode supports up to 64 people at a time and depending on how well you do you can win equipment, medals and other rewards to use in your next match.

The bottom line:
The Battlefield universe expands again, putting the SF into Semper Fi.

Classic Battlefield Fun!!
Hmmm...where do i start...basically battlefield 2142 is just a more hi-tech and gadgety version of Battlefield 2. It's the upgrades and unlocks that i thought would make the game good... the high-tech gadgets. But...you can only get these if play online and if your a regular single player like i am i suggest you really think twice about 2142. With only 5 maps and NO GRENADES it's tedious about 3 days later.

However, cons aside, 2142 does offer the fun of Battlefield 2 with the added fun of the walker (stompy stompy) and the gunship things and is genarally a great shoot'em up kinda game!!

love it
i ordered this on the 6th of may and got it on the 7th with free delivery :D what can i say about this game....MADNESS i have a radeon X1650 pro with 3.00ghz intel processor and 1.5gb of ram and ive never had such quality graphics and not lag at all. this game is unreal when playing my favourite map : Camp Gilbratar so much killing and explosions really gives this game a massive war effect.

if you dont have the internet do not get as single player is the only games downfall.

Good but BF2 still wins with me.
Its fun but slightly silly i still preffer BF2 .Watch out if your buying a used copy as the cd key will have been registered leaving you unable to play online. You can download this game from ea games online.

Excellent
First off. This is a multiplayer game, the singleplayer can only be viewed as practice. You get 64 players, top graphics, excellent servers and an experience like you've never had before.

This is a very intense, battlefield simulation. Its exciting, fun and rewarding.

The more you play the further you progress up the ranks, unlocking weapons and equipment for each of the classes.

I cannot reccommend this game enough. If you like your FPS games, but want a bit more, then this will cater for you. You can go all out and assault with tanks or assaultrifles/shotguns/machineguns or sit back and snipe with the sublime choice of rifles. Like BF2, this game is as close to war as you are going to get sat in a chair.

It could have been so good !
After installing the game, and updating it, i keep getting crashes saying "battlefield 2142.exe has stopped working......" i have a pretty new computer with Intel dual core processor 4 gigs of ram and a Geforce 8800 gts 640 mb. videocard.
I havent had any other problems with games including Call of duty 4,Company of heroes/Coh. opposing fronts, Bioshock, World in conflict, Command and conquer 3 and others.
I have been able to play a couple of times, and so far i am very disappointed with all the crashing, i have even tried running it as administrator, and in Xp mode (i use Vista) but nothing seems to help, so i would recommend you stay away from this game.
