review by: date: 2008-05-27 rating: The best of the best This is the best of all Abbott and Costello collections. The Frankenstein film brings back Lon Chaney Jnr as the wolfman, Glen Strange as the Frankenstein monster and most importantly Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula.
The latter is looking for a compliant willing stupid brain to fit into the monster and Costello's brain is just the ticket. One of the best comedy films ever made. The second film while good is not of this standard but delivers one of their famous comedy routines. Check out the
'Slowly I turned'routine and you will see what an excellent double act they were.
review by: date: 2008-03-26 rating: Classics I always loved watching Abbott and Costello movies when they came on TV over 20 years ago so I decided to get some of the DVDs. This item contains two of their best pictures, in one they go to Egypt where they meet the Mummy and in the other they meet Frankenstein, Dracula and the Werewolf. Even today both movies are still laugh-out-loud funny.
There is no colour, no special effects and no obscenity or swearing. This means good clean innocent comedy that you can watch with your kids. The same can't be said about the stuff made for TV today.
