Enjoyable but very flawed
I'd been wanting to buy this for some time now and finally picked it up last week. After playing the PC version of the 2005 edition and thoroughly enjoying it, what could be better than a newer version of the game in the palm of your hand?

Unfortunately, the most impressive aspect of World Snooker Challenge 2007 is the presentation. The menu screens are nice and easy to navigate - a huge improvement over the previous game - and the rooms and crowds look great. There are some graphical issues, as some people have mentioned. My favourite so far is seeing the balls being placed into the crowd instead of onto the table.

The game's enjoyment is hampered by short matches and atrocious commentary, where Davis, Virgo and Parrott will regularly contradict what is happening on the table (although I feel I need to point out that the PC version's commentary is terrible too). So far I've played through four tournaments and the longest game I have encountered is best of 3. I understand that to make it more appropriate for a handheld device with limited battery life the matches needed to be shortened, but in the age of 4gb memory sticks, the option of saving the game after a few frames and coming back to it later would have been sufficient. The final of each tournament is not a match, but a challenge set by your opponent... for example potting X amount of balls in a time limit or in a certain amount of shots... while fun it spoils the efforts made to get to this stage and you don't feel a sense of achievement when winning a trophy.

Despite all these shortcomings, World Snooker Challenge 2007 is an enjoyable game to play when you don't have the PC version handy, but don't take the word 'challenge' too literally.

I do agree but....
Although I agree with the article about the bugs (Such as the jumping of the white as it travels) overall it doesn't affect the game in anyway!!! This is a really good game with loads of improvements over 2005, such as the positional help. Overall a top game.

Fantastic
I have previously purchased this game on the Xbox360 and it was awful - graphics so poor I could not read the menus and all of the balls looked brown. No such worries on the PSP version - excellent colours and graphics. Only slight criticism is the occasional judder effect when striking the balls. Overall, a five star game.

Could have been a classic, but sadly not.
I've encountered many bugs in this game which is a shame after the excellent ball physics of this games predecessor, World Snooker 2005.During a frame of snooker my opponent has had the misfortune to find himself buried waist deep in the middle of the table, head becoming mysteriously detached from the rest of his body, and when my character claps at the end of a match, his cue performs a ghostly dance around him. However what I find absolutely unforgiveable are the atrocious ball physics. Strike a ball with more than half power, you will find the balls juddering along, and the object and cue ball come to a complete halt momentarily, before restarting to continue their trajectory. Do not waste your money on this game as you will find that World Snooker 2005 is a far more satisfying experience.

Best snooker game Ive ever played
Im a huge snooker fan and enjoy playing the computer games. This is easily the best to date. My only complaint is with one of the commentators, I have no idea who it is but all he ever does is moan, even when you play a great shot he moans. Great game though all the same.
