Wok more could you ask for..?
A first rate product...heats up very quickly, to high temperatures,and very easy to keep clean...wok more could you ask for? I cannot recommend it highy enough. For the unfortunate owners who have heating problems...check with the manufacturers and see what they have to say.

waste of money..............
I didnt buy this from Amazon but, just to let you know how sorry I am for purchasing it at all, takes ages to cook with, heats up, slows down, takes ages to make a meal and even then you worry incase its cooked properly!!!! waste of money !

A disappointment
Living in an area with no mains gas supply I have always found it difficult to stir fry with a conventional wok on an electric cooker as an higher enough temperature cannot be reached. About fifteen years ago I bought an electric wok which was superb. I now can't recall the manufacturer's name but know it has gone out of production. It would heat up immediately and give almost as high a temperature as if using a gas flame but as the non-stick surface had completely worn away after almost weekly use over this period I decided it was time for a new one. Unfortunately I bought the Prestige a la Carte. It just doesn't get hot enough. The idea of stir frying I think is to rapidly cook the food and to seal in the goodness and flavour. I've had it three months now and from day one never thought it much good because it just won't reach a higher enough temperature. What's prompted to write this review is that it's just taken me thirty minutes to cook three stir fry dishes meaning I had to heat up the first two by microwave to serve all up at the same time. I might well have used a conventional frying pan on the stove. As the heat is thermostatically controlled the only use I can see for this is as a slow cooker. If I want a stir fry in future it looks like a trip to the takeaway. I certainly wouldn't recommend this wok to anybody.

WOK A BARGAIN!
I have had a prestige wok for many months now and cannot praise it highly enough. Fast to heat up and extremely easy to clean for the price I really do not think it can be beaten -and it looks good too!
