The best CD to teach beginners how to belly dance
This is the best CD I've ever used to learn belly dancing... the position of the camera is excellent, allows you to see exactly how the move is performed from top to bottom.... Amira precisely shows a step by step instruction on how to move your body for each move (that is left to right, back and front) and does not assume at all that your body maybe used to any of the moves... she repeats the moves few times for you to see and practice, and changes her speed incrementally for each move... one that is completely break down of the move, and one with the move done fully, and one in a dance position...
Unlike most of the terrible CDs, you don't feel rushed to follow Amira's moves, and she doesn't jump to the next move until she covered the first move and gave you enough time to practice...

The CD is split into several sections and you can choose to navigate and play whichever one you like (or wish to practice)... so you don't need to forward the whole CD until you find the section that performs hip circles for example...

She starts with about 5mins worm-up and ends with about 7mins workout that combines many of the moves she taught in the CD...

The voice is recorded separately from the performance, which leaves her attention on the moves, unlike many other CDs where the performer is worried about getting everything right at once!

I would advice you to look in YouTube to see a small version of this CD so that you know exactly what to expect...

Rubbish... not multi-region, won't play
Thew title says it all really. It isn't an all region DVD as claimed, and won't play in either my DVD player or my PC. It's going back, waste of time and money if you don't have a multi region player.

A nice positive starter
This is an approachable DVD, good for a someone just taking their first classes and wanting to build up some confidence practicing at home. Amira's demeanour is friendly and positive, the DVD looks good and will provide the beginner with some useful foundation moves.
I am not giving it 5 stars because it is somewhat short (containing a single 45 min session) and the keen dancer will outgrow this fairly quickly. There are equivalent DVDs which are better value and will challenge the dancer for longer.
However, this is the first DVD I lend any friend wondering if bellydance is for them.

A perfect introduction
This DVD really is a wonderful way to learn the skills and abilities required for the beautiful art of bellydance. Amira is so vibrant and full of passion for the dance that it really motivates you and makes you eager to learn and build up your talent. The setup is simple and easy to follow. The movements are broken down step-by-step so you can see exactly how they work and this style of instruction is great for helping you to understand and reproduce the moves. The sections covered flow in an intuitive way and you'll be able to make progress even from the first try. The feel of this DVD is very inspiring and is very much about having fun and being happy & healthy. This DVD will have you bursting with positive energy and once you get your confidence up after a little practice you will never look back.

excellent instructions for the absolute beginner...
Just a week ago my daughter started to work out with this dvd. Having practiced every day her movements look pretty elegant now, as the instructions are very easy to follow.
She would certainly appreciate a follow-up for the advanced learner.
