PC and Mac
Here's a copy of an email I sent to belkin

Hi,

I purchased a USB Switch2 KVM and would just like to say I'm happy, very happy, in fact delighted ! The flipping thing works just as it should.

Obviously I'm disappointed I didn't have to download any drivers, or ring technical support, or print out a 400 page manual from a PDF document. I mean. What gives ? Are you trying to start a new trend with working hardware straight out the box. !! Hell even the bubble wrap packaging has an easy open thingy, whatever happened to spending 4 hours finding the super strong scissors and lacerating my hand opening it and then visiting the casualty department of the local hospital ?

One other point, I think you've missed a marketing trick. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse and so only used one of the two ports. So just for fun I plugged my Printer/scanner in the other, it works, perfectly, but no mention is made of this in the real paper manual.

Yours, Still in shock

Good product
It works, it is well built, good looking, has a cool remote control switch and all you have to do is plug in the wires, simple.

The wires coming out of the base unit end up in a mess but as they say in the instructions leave it out of sight behind your kit.

The spec says it needs certain operating systems presumably for auto config of USB devices. It works for me switching between a Winterm (Windows CE?) and XP Professional PC system.

It seems that there is a slight delay (a couple of seconds) after switching before the keyboard and mouse are recognised and the XP system beeps a couple of times apparently indicating that a USB device has been connected/disconnected. This slight delay is not a problem for me and is more than offset by the convenience.

My first 5 star review.

Disappointing
This looks very simple and straightforward, but it is problematic to use.
Sometimes when I start the two computers up I will see the screen of A, but find my mouse and keyboard are operating on B - when I switch I see screen B, but the mouse and keyboard are now on A. I can't imagine how this can be possible, but it is and it drives me crazy trying to sort it out - and means me forcing the power off on the computers rather than shutting down in the proper way.
It takes a few seconds to switch from one computer to another (you can hear the USB connects and disconnects taking place if you don't have it switching the audio). This gets annoying if you want to switch back and forth often.
I think I'd probably prefer to have a dead simple switch rather than something fancy like this again.

Very good and simple but problems with docking stations
Simple to setup and use. With Dell desktop there are no problems, however, the laptop will not recognise my wireless M/S mouse and keyboard unless I take it out of the docking station. Belkin support told me that most KVMs have problems with docking stations.
