I think it's great!I know the first person to review this product said it was 'rubbish', but I have to disagree. I've just moved into a flat with 2 other people and we all have computers. One of my friends recommended McAfee because she got it with a Dell computer she bought. This product is perfect for us beacuse we can all use it under the three user license feature and it just makes life simpler and is more cost effective!! It's really easy to use, easy to install and does what is says on the box - what more do you want from a security software package really??!!

Good, but flawed - needs to be compatible to work.McAfee wireless protection claims to do it all, and it does - provided it is compatible with your router. The product takes over the management of your wireless web connection (from windows or intel) and protects it from unauthorised access from others. That's particularly good if you use WEP encryption, which is not very secure and can be broken by others, or if (for some reason) you don't use a protected network at the moment.
It keeps track of who is currently connected to your network and lets you know as they log-in and out. It generates pre-shared keys and automatically changes them after a set time (from 1 hour to 1 day), and is compatible with WEP, WPA and WPA2. So far, so good.
However, the box doesn't tell you that the product isn't compatible with a lot (and I mean A LOT) of routers. We use Belkin, Netgear and Thomson (Speedtouch) routers and the ompatibility list is very patchy. We couldn't achieve compatibility with any version of the Netscape MIMO G router that is very popular at the moment, nor the Belkin Super-G. McAfee's product compunds this with error messages that are - to say the least - unhelpful, suggesting that we update the program from McAfee. Needless to say, that doesn't help at all.
If you intend to buy the product (and it's good when it works - we finally got a Speedtouch modem to work after updating its firmware), check at www.mcafee.com first - there is a list of all compatible modems and firmwares. Don't assume that because you have a popular modem that it will just work - our experience is that the more recent and popular a modem is, the less likelihood that the software will work - and when it doesn't work, there is no feature of it at all that works, in other words it doesn't half-work!
Hope that helps!

rubbishThis is rubbish. Totally useless. It is not compatitble with all routers and it does not tell you which ones it works with. So I bought it thinking it would be fine but it did not recognise my brand new and very common router. It also claimed that I cannot use a wireless connection as I did not have a wireless USB adaptor connected! Helllllllllllooooooooo, I'm centrino enabled.........!!!!!!!!!!
When I decided I'd had enough I 'tried' to uninstall it. I had to first though uninstall my virus scan and firewall before I could get anywhere near getting rid of this rubbish. Then once got rid of had to re-install my security center..
1 star is too generous.
