Product DescriptionNintendo DS Lite offers all of the unique features of the Nintendo DS but also includes a variety of distinctive changes which truly sets it apart from other handheld consoles. Nintendo DS Lite retains the advanced touch screen technology, allowing players to control software with a stylus or even their finger, as well as dual screens, voice recognitionand Wi-Fi capabilities of the Nintendo DS but is now both smaller and lighter.
The Nintendo DS Lite will become the new edition to Nintendo's video game family when it launches on 23rd June 2006. Nintendo DS Lite is a lighter and brighter version of the highly successful Nintendo DS.
Dual Screens open up new possibilities - use the touch screen as an inventory reference for role-playing games, to view maps for your favourite strategy game, or see racing action from two perspectives at once
Navigate menus or access inventory items simply by touching the screen with stylus or fingertip
Tough film over touchscreen protects it
Advanced 3D graphics engine and 16-channel audio, for graphics and Sound that are superior to other portable game systems
All-new PictoChat feature allows DS users to write messages with an on-screen Keyboard or the stylus and send them wirelessly
Built-in Microphone port for voice control of games, or for voice chat with other DS players
Less than two-thirds the size of the original Nintendo DS
More than 20 percent lighter than original DS
4 adjustable brightness levels to extend battery life

Stylus has been redesigned--now 1cm longer and 1mm thicker
Repositioned start and select buttons
Amazon.co.uk ReviewIn a nutshell: It may have taken the world by storm with its huge range of genuinely innovative new games but there's no denying that the Nintendo DS is not exactly the most portable of portable consoles. That's all changed now with this sleek and sexy update.
The lowdown:
When the Nintendo DS was first announced it was dismissed by many as a white elephant - with a gimmicky interface and underpowered graphics. Over 15 million sales later and the story is a little different. The DS Lite is fully compatible with all existing Nintendo DS (and Game Boy Advance) games but it's smaller, sleeker and lighter - with a new design that perfectly matches the Nintendo Wii console. The most impressive feature is the new backlit screens which offer the sharpest image ever seen on a portable console. The DS Lite is available in three separate colours: White, Black and Pink.
Most exciting feature:
The DS Lite now has four brightness settings - the highest is brighter than even the PSP and is clearly visible in any lighting condition. That sound? That'll be Sony executives running to the hills - wearing sunglasses.
Since you ask:
The Nintendo DS is the fast selling console ever in Japan. When the DS Lite was released, it sold out instantly, with queues of over 1,000 people a common sight.
The bottom line:
The DS gets a face lift to become Nintendo's best looking portable ever. - Harrison Dent

Great Fun..but not enough..The pink Nintendo DS..
I got a Nintendo DS in december 07,by April 2008 i had sold it on. I really, really wanted one and when i got it was completly addicted to it,perfect for when your partners watching the football! The Games appealed to me and i loved that i could take it anywhere and loved how it looked..but then i started to get bored because the games were too short and easy and i ended up not playing on it because i had completed all the games. I think i found i was too old for it at 20 and it was better for younger children as the games were too easy and childish. I would recommend it for children 100% as its great fun and educational. But if your older and like a bit more of a challenge then you may get bored quickly and feel like theres nothing that will last you a good few months of play time. I bought some games and completed them in the same day which is disapointing when you spend £24.99 on a game. I would highly recommend anyone who does have one to purchase Harvest moon because this is a game which really makes the nintendo ds come into its own.
Overall 8/10

I love my DS Lite - Really I do!I have never been a video game player, even though my younger brother had every video game console from the Sega Mega Drive, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Atari Lynxx, GameBoy, Play Station and many others etc etc etc... plus every game you can imagine. I tried Sonic the Hedgehog and after about three minutes of pure frustration with some stupid control pad with too many coloured buttons on, I left never to return.
So when he showed me his latest purchase of a DS Lite I edged away cautiously, until I saw the Brain Training in play, within minutes I had gone online and bought my own and have never looked back since. I have now become a total addict, that was last November. It's just such great fun and it travels everywhere with me with my ever growing collection of games.
It's the best fun and the really great bit is the battery lasts for ages, so it's just perfect when you are stuck in an airport and have a few hours to while away.
Buy one, you won't regret it for a minute.

Pink Nintendo DSMy daughter Chloe says "I would recommend this DS to anyone thinking of buying one. I have had mine for about 1 year now and have had loads of fun with it. There are educational games available for it too. I have lots of games that i like to play. I play on it all the time. "

My new best friendOkay, not exactly 'new'. I've had my DS for almost a year now.
I've loved it for almost a year, too.
I chose pink because it was quite girly and I just liked the color of it. I use an R4 Card and let me just tell you it is the bomb. I can carry almost 30 games around with me all the time.
The battery lasts for ages and I this is just wonderful to play and to own. The games are so much more fun than the dreaded PSP
