Mythbuntu installation
I installed this into a media centre using mythbuntu 8.04 and then 8.10 and with a couple of adjustments it works perfectly. For those interested, on install the machine needs to be rebooted to recognise the card and then the onboard amplifier needs to be activated (look on the mythtv site). On my old 2.5 Athlon machine I can rip a DVD and record on two channels at once without a stutter !! Fully recommended.

The card is good.
The card itself works great and also with Windows Vista Media Centre. I installed it in a Dell 531S which requires a low profile slot which this card does not come with but I contacted Hauppauge and they supplied one free of charge.

The software included by Hauppuage is the reason I took a start off. The scheduling service for recording is poor frequently failing to pick up the EPG, and you can't do a series link which means I have to resort to using Media Centre.

Great except for Vista 64bit with more than 3GB RAM
Had this card operating under XP MCE and Vista 32bit with excellent results. Be aware that if you have Vista Ultimate 64bit with more than 3GB of RAM this card will not work and as far as I can tell there is no prospect of a fix from Hauppauge.

EPG will make you go grey!!!!
The EPG for this seriously sucks! So many people cannot get it to work.....but hey, they have your money by the time you find out it looks like its been designed for Win98 and behaves like its from that era.

I certainly will not buy from Hauppauge again which is a shame as the card is quiet good just I cant program nothing unless I do it manually.

Hauppauge get your act together!!!!!!

Excellent card, Windows software poor, works fine in Linux
I purchased this card because I wanted to build my own Media centre, and it was on the MythTV compatibility list.
It works perfectly with MytThV on Linux, just needed a bit of fiddling to get the Low Noise Amplifiers switched on. The remote works fine too.
I use MythBuntu on my HTPC, a surprisingly good distro,easy to use and set up.
With the latest version of MythTV , I can even record multiple channels from one multiplex on each tuner. At the moment, I have it set up for four channels max per tuner.
