Product DescriptionUnbeatable value has made the dreadnought-style F310 a best seller. The perfect choice for discerning beginner.Top: SpruceBack and sides: MerantiNeck: NatoFingerboard: RosewoodBridge: RosewoodBody depth: 96-116mm (3.78-4.57 inch)Scale length: 636mm (25.04 inch)Tuning machines: Open chromeThe F310 offers outstanding quality at a truly budget price. The lively sound from the spruce/meranti body has a bright, sweet resonance not unlike Yamahas renowned FGs, and real rosewood is used for the fingerboard and bridge. The handling comfort of the slightly reduced body depth and intermediate scale length will be particularly appreciated by younger players.

Yamaha GuitarThis guitar is brilliant!
I was initially a bit wary of buying a guitar "unseen" off the internet, as you can't really gauge the quality of the instrument. I was amazed, the quality of this guitar far exceeds the price you pay for it. A total bargain!!
We've bought it for my dad as a surprise Christmas present and he is going to be so chuffed with it!
Oh, and the packaging was also excellent! One worry I had was the guitar arriving broken, but there is no way it could have been damaged it was so carefully packaged. Excellent service!

This is the One to Get if You Are a BeginnerI've been teaching guitar for many mnay years and this is the one I always rocommend to students who want an acoustic. Great guitar for the price, easy action and sounds pretty good considering this is 10th of the price a a pro instrument like a Takamine and a 20th of the price of a USA built Martin guitar.
Get a set of lighter strings (11s will be written on the packet for the 1st string guage) to help you press the strings down on the frets - as soon as you can play better go the other way to some heavier bass strings and get a set of Bluegrass strings from D'Addario. Start with a thin pick as well - you'll find your strumming easier in the early stages.
See my other comments on the F310 set package.

Excellent valueThis a well-made guitar not just for a beginner but for anyone who likes a good sounding playable acoustic at an affordable price. I think you'd have to pay quite a bit more to get something noticeably better. It sounds very good. Get some Martin strings and away you go.
The machine heads do not slip and all the bits fit and feel solid. The action is quite good too - important for younger people since they might otherwise have issues holding chords. You might get light gauge strings for younger people.

Great quality at a great priceI bought this for my boyfriend who is very happy with it.
The quality of the the guitar itself is very high and comes with all the things someone starting out would need, although I would maybe recomend paying a bit extra for the 'pro pack' which includes the stand and bag.
All in all the guitar sounds great and will last for many many years!

Great starter guitar. This is a great guitar. This instrument is high quality and well worth the reasonable price. Many people will recommend other starting guitars that are two or three times dearer than this. They don't have a clue. This guitar can easily match many more expensive models and the sound from it is very nice to listen to.
The DVD could have been better, but it was free, and it teaches you a few basics to get started with.Overall I have found this to be a good purchase. The only trouble I had was with tuning it so I bought an electronic tuner to sort that problem out - which is advisable if you have only started playing,as it will help you tune your guitar accurately and quickly.
