Dan Bern - Breathe
I've known Dan Bern since 2002's excellent New American Language. If you love Dylan, clever lyrics, rock n'roll, rock/folk or just very good tunes, you will love Dan Bern. No one sounds as close to Dylan as Dan Bern clearly does. This could be his biggest critisim, he could be accused of almost a karaoke Dylan approach in voice and harmonica, but the tunes stand up for themselves and Dan Bern knows a thing or two about writing tunes. This album is immediately accessible. Right from the off the Dylan influences are very evident but the second song and the title track is superb. There are no duff tracks on this album. Definitely 4 stars!
