Very, very repetative
We were given this game 2 years ago as a present, and although I do agree with all of the other reviews, we still manage to get some entertainment out of it.

Many of the questions are repeated, even in the same game, which has led to myself and my husband being banned from being on the same team as we already know the answers to a lot of the questions (having never watched the films in question).

There have also been many, many bouts of fisticuffs or eye gouging when a team is given the same question as their opponents not 2 rounds earlier.

Also, the disc does on occasion skip a players turn, and then apparently realising it's mistake, gives them 2 turns next time!!!

The game is very repetative, however we do still get enjoyment from it once we've had a few bevvies.

groundhog game-
ZERO STARS - HAD TO GIVE ONE STAR AS REQUESTED BY AMAZON...WHY?
picture...group of friends on holiday after way too much who wants to be a millionaire and dodgy interactive horse racing..picked this up for £6 and thought our evenings were going to be a bit more entertaining ...............WRONG!!!!!
next time i'll get a vat of very cheap cider and guess the next line in the news..the game is as dull as dishwater and as repetitive as xmas....all reviews here are spot on...its awful.....one of my friends is now seeking therapy and the other hasnt spoken since our awful groundhog night...we cannot speak of this awful game ever again......the curse is now yours after you have read this!!!!!!!!!!!!....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Absolute rubbish!
I'm not going to waste my time giving this a detailed review. Just don't bother trying this thing - it's horrible.

The 'random' questions are not random. Sometimes the answers don't relate to the question you've just been asked (I'm serious!). Sometimes the answers aren't even right - I've checked a few simple things like release dates and I've been amazed to find they've got the wrong answers.

This is clearly just a cash cow that Empire lent its name to without even doing a quality check. I e-mailed Empire to tell them - never got a reply (surprise surprise).

I ebayed mine after two uses. Enough said.

Rushed out for Christmas, cashing in on the kids, jumping on the bandwagon - basically faulty!
We were really looking forward to playing this game around the TV on Boxing Day - at first we thought the DVD player was playing up and swapped the equipment around a bit so we could just get on with it.
However it seemed that the disc was not reading properly and the screen froze up. After several resets we gave it up as a bad idea and played trivial pursuit the old fashioned way.

As the disc appeared to be faulty we sent it back, and were sent a new product. Once again I anticipated a great afternoon (although the opportunity of family around the TV had passed), but was to be disappointed again.

The disc did work better this time, however the same few questions kept re-appearing (I don't think I'll ever be able to watch X-Men 3 out of principle) and the scoring system was going nuts! I'd get a question right, but the answer wouldn't come up, and then another question - no answer! After a run of questions that had no answers (I was thinking it must have been keeping score!) suddenly the curtain comes down - GAME OVER! You have lost all of your lives!

Several times I got the question wrong on purpose - exactly the same thing with the next question appearing immediately, but this time I went straight to the top - 20 awards and I think somewhere down the line I won the entire game. Well done me.

Now, I reckon I probably spent too much time in front of the damned thing hopefully trying to get it to work, doubting myself and hoping that I would progress onto a second section where I got different questions, but I was just wasting my time!

According to the rest of the reviews on here, it seems that this is a universal problem with the disc, and in the absence of any positive reviews I reckon - Empire, sort your franchise options out, and get a grip!

I am still asking for a full refund, becaus regardless of whether the product is the same as the rest of them,I don't reckon it's fit to be released as a viable product. Empire - what happened? You are synonymous with quality and reliability? Money and success has changed you!

Just don't, what ever you do, just don't!!!!
I have read bad reviews on here before and just basically plain disagreed with most of them because it was usually from people that just had personal problems with the item. So I decided to rent this out.
Tonight my mates and I played it and after our first go were utterly disappointed. The questions repeat them selves at a stupid rate. I know it's random and it's going to happen but you would expect out of the 1000+ questions you wouldn't be sitting there answering questions you would never of know the answer to until your competitor answered it a few minutes ago.
In total there are only about 6 to 8 video clips on the disk and a few questions to each of them. One of my friends had the X Men 3 clip and a question asking what the robot was. Then it was another mate's go, he got the same question, we laughed in disbelief. Then it was my go, and guess what question I had. That time we Laughed in disgust.

If your thinking, ah these people don't know what there talking about it wont happen to me, then your wrong. Also there are problems to the disk. Take this question "How many years between Fantasia and Fantasia 2000?" the highest answer was 47 but we chose that and apparently the answer is "Peter Sallis"! The worst bit about that is that if you look it up on IMDB then the answer is actually 59 years which wasn't even an option.
You'll also be lucky if it doesn't skip you out of the game all together while your friends are given extra points then what they earnt.

I think my basic point about all of this is, why waste your money. Don't even rent it. You would have more choice of questions off one trivial pursuit card.
