What you would expect - more gym rawk...
Chunky guitars. Thumped out 4/4 riffs. Excellent melodies. Ridiculous lyrics. BB are like a rock/metal outfit of Bon Jovi but without the hairspray and leatherpants. This is not a bad album. The song writing is good, but the liberal use of Drop-D tuning means that they blend too much into one another. The vocals are soaring and emotive, but yet again there is some of the nonsensical lyricism. If you enjoy listening to rock music, care little for cohesive lyrics, but enjoy metaphor after metaphor, BB do the trick. This is not a knock on the band, as the musicianship carries the album enough. br / br /However, this album falls short of 'We are not alone' and misses out on the ferocity of tracks such as 'Away' and 'Believe'. At times, it's a touch radio friendly. There need to be those occasions of subtlety and outright raw power to make this album artistically cleave through what you would expect of this band. All in all, not a bad effort. br / br /In correction to the tracklisting, "The Diary of Jane (Acoustic)" is on this album between the outtro and "Rain" (Bonus Track 14). The inclusion of this track makes this album a more preferable buy than the others. br / br /In short - buy this album, go to the gym, put it on and pump. This is what a BB album is born to do.
