br /the actors do a great job, the storyline is great, scarlett johansson and hillary swank are gorgeous what more could you want?
This film looks fabulous and the stellar cast are all good particularly Hillary Swank.
br /The main flaw is the conclusion is pure guesswork/fantasy call it what you wish. I think thats where the films flaw lies. The DVD is excellent with lots of interesting extras. Personally I would disagree with the reviewers who have slated it so badly.Perhaps it should be listed as a brave but flawed attempt. Its still worth watching as the production values are first rate and the attention to period detail, rather good.
Incredibly beautiful considering the brutal core of the story - certainly not for the squeamish. This film kept us glued to the screen, I lost track of time watching it and even though the crime the story centres around was horrifc and violent the film is beautifully shot.

br /It is however a victim of trying to fit too much story into too little time and the buddy movie bit between the two male leads did make me cringe (Fire and Ice...! Oh dear...)
br /
br /On the whole, well worth a watch - but be prepared to sit down and be involved. I can see that I will watch this film more than once and enjoy it again.
after rubbish film from brian de palma lets hope he has a return to form soon, this is bland, badly acted nonsense
A complex who-dunnit with a good layer of Raymond Chandler hard-boiled dialogue laid on a specific era in America. You need to keep your wits about you to follow the plot which has more twists than a very twisty twisted thing. It isn't LA Confidential but it's not bad if you enjoy processing clues.
