Seventh HeavenTitled Seventh Sojourn, as it was the band's 7th album in the Hayward / Lodge era, and their last album for nearly 6 years, this album is a Moody Blues classic. Leaving the psychedelic rock sound of the 1960s behind, keyboard player Mike Pinder utilised a new instrument called the Chamberlain, replacing the favoured mellotron from previous albums. The keyboard features heavily on the haunting Lodge penned hit Isn't Life Strange. Seventh Sojourn also features such gems as I'm Just A Singer In A Rock And Roll Band and Lost In A Lost World. Newly remastered with bonus tracks, this is a must for Moody Blues fans.

This is more like it......you see, substitute Island for the dull Land Of Make-Believe and voila - you have the perfect Seventh Sojourn!

Seven UpIn many ways Seventh Sojourn has a looser feeling about it, at times overtly political as on Lost in a Lost World and at times more like a collection of individual songs than music that clings together.

br /Generally thought of as the final of the Moodies seven ground-breaking psychedelic albums, it has all the hallmarks and some very strong material. To me, however, there seems to be a missing spark that would lift it up a notch.

A ClassicSeventh Sojourn It is a hackneyed expression I know but I can think of no other to describe this album. From the soaring orchestration and vocals in "New Horions" to the hauntingly melodic "For My Lady" there is something here for everyone. There may only be 8 tracks on the album - remember this dates from an era where two sides of vinyl added up to little more than 40 minutes but at the end I always feel I have had a very satisfying musical experience - no matter how often I listen to it.

Another classicThe seventh (surprisingly) and last of the great run of classic albums from one of the best bands to walk this earth. Perhaps feeling a little too gloomy compared to earlier and subsequent offerings, but still a great album if you're in the right mood fot it. The album is is far more than a collection of individual tracks, with a strong feel and consistency throughout. If you like early Moodies, this will simply reinforce your opinion. Oustanding track? Lost in a Lost World.
