a promising start, but not more
Basia Bulat shows promise on this album, but be prepared for the hype that's coming. The record industry machine is as keen to create stories of all varieties from the cultish to the mainstream. Based on this song collection, Bulat is a young musician yet to find her voice. Her label network bills this as much more. Obviously. Avoid the pr and simply enjoy the music for what it is.

Excellent debut album from Canadian singer/songwriter plus band. Why are there so many great artists coming from Canada (Feist, Arcade Fire, Rufus)? Well, here's another one.
