HALF AND HALF
Jonatha writes great songs, (normally) consistent albums. An artist i look forward to each new release. Hot on the trail of the excellant live album, comes this and what a let down. JOnatha gets co-writer and the result is guitar heavy FM rock, no joyous harmonies and sounding like any other drab female singer, which she isn't witness the tracks where the raunchiness is dropped, she sticks with the acoustics and proves what she is capable of, but that is only half the album, the rest is mediocre. Funnily enough the best track is the sung-in-French one which is a great melody (think English would have suited just as well) and 'forgiven' which sounds like an outtake from 'steady pull' If you're curious about Jonatha avoid this, its a let down, so much so that i won't wait with bated breath for the next one. A lust for mass acceptance? i think so!
