'Choppy Ocean'?
I have been a Boney M. fan since 1978, when I was 18. Now, in 2008, aged 48, I still love 'em - in their original line-up, that is! It's great that so many of their re-issued albums are now available here at Amazon, and I have already re-stocked my shelves with some new CDs. br / br /However, concerning this Album, the 1979 release 'Oceans of Fantasy', I just have the following words to say... br / br /In my view, it's an okay album, but certainly not as inspiring or foot-tapping as the 1978 classic, 'Nightflight To Venus'. I am, however, re-discovering its charms now on CD, and all that camp kitchness is enveloping me once more. Now, where did I put my sequin-encrusted diving suit...?! br / br /But, I have to say that this album contains one of the most unbelieveable and unforgivable oversights in Boney M's history. Why in blue blazes did the producers cut the finest track on the album - 'Ribbons of Blue' - in half? This beautiful, catchy and fabulous song is cut off in its prime just as one gets into it. It is an insane move and whoever is responsible for this should be spanked relentlessly with the tenticles of a latex octipus... br / br /The good news is that the full version of Ribbons of Blue is available on the 'Rarities Volume One' CD, also available from Amazon. I have just ordered mine. br / br /So, to sum up, not a bad album but it's badly mutilated by what has been done to Ribbons of Blue. br / br /Right, I'm off to iron my silver jumpsuit... br / br /Gerard Feeney. br / br /

Oceans Of Fantasy - Boney M
At long last remastered editions of four of Boney M's fantastic albums with extra tracks. br /I first got all of their eight albums from Germany when they were released in 1994. br /Oceans Of Fantasy was Boney M's fourth album. It was released in 1979 and contains the hits Gotta Go Home and I'm Born Again and non-UK release El Lute. It also has My Friend Jack which was a UK single in 1980 and the excellent b-side I See A Boat On The River. The only comment here to make is Hooray! Hooray! It's A Holi-Holiday their Summer 1979 number three single is not on here. br /As well as the four remastered albums released in the UK, there are still four more available but may not be in the UK. There are Boonoonoonoos (1981), 10,000 Light Years (1984), Kalimba De Luna (1984) and Eye Dance (1985). These are listed in the inside cover of each of the four albums out this week in the UK as The Remastered Editions 2007. br / br /Boney M are the best group ever. br / br /My late brother Peter who died on 14th January 2003 loved Boney M to and a song called "Somewhere In The World" from the 1984 album 10,000 Light Years was played at the end of his funeral service at our local church, it is a lovely song and if there is a heaven then this song is what it should be like.
