This is one CD that I listen to time and again. It's a reasonably short album, at about 45 minutes, but the tracks themselves are, on the whole, exceptional. br / br /Stylistically, BB use heavy bass and rhythm guitars to underline their songs, while their vocalist/lead guitarist focuses on the melody. The lead guitar has a clear sound, but in my opinion is under-used, to enable him to focus on the singing. Benjamin Burnley's vocals are powerful and, critically, distinctive. Thematically, the songs are rather downbeat, focusing on breakups mainly. br / br /This album has very few filler tracks, with "You Fight Me" and "Topless" being the only exceptions (in my oh-so-humble opinion). It's hard to say which tracks are the highlights, since every time I listen to the album, different ones jump out at me, but the shortlist includes "Breath", "You", "Until The End" and "Unknown Soldier". br / br /The live DVD is fantastic. Almost the perfect set list, although they could have traded Polyamorous for... uh... almost anything, really. I don't like that song so much. Maybe drop that and Topless, and replace them with Simple Design and Blow Me Away, or maybe a cover of Hurt, which they really seem to like performing live. Otherwise, the audio is well-recorded, and the band plays flawlessly. They don't deviate too much from the studio recordings, but that's alright; they're very well-written songs. br / br /The packaging is holographic too, which is nice. br / br /Overall, one fantastic CD/DVD. Definitely worth a purchase.
