better price from 'Amazon' than i paid for a great device!
Why do i need this?

We may know that criminal behavior is rising year-on-year? With this in mind, I looked around for a replacement shredder that is able to cross-cut 10 pages at a time, also destroy CD / DVD media. However i bought this elsewhere, and i accept Amazon has a much better price than i paid!

Features

The shredder has a large-for a home officer- waste paper capacity. There is one slider switch for 'reverse / stop / automatic'. The shredder can handle 10 sheets at a time for a few minutes, then allow 20 minutes to cool down. If you exceed this the auto -thermal shutdown may do this for you. This device can also shred Credit-cards, and makes CD type media unreadable without shredding them.

Maintenance

i learned to my cost with another previous shredder device, the blades and bearing MUST be oiled with a very specific oil type to last. When shredders is not oiled, the waste paper blunts the blades and stresses its bearings. This routine can be remembered as every time the bin is filled with cross-cut paper, oil the moving parts such as blades and bearings. This is done by inverting the device and by optical inspecting these surfaces.

Tips

At some point, you may find that sometimes that device will not shut down as normal after entering waste paper to the shredder? In this case, usually the teeth have some blockage with waste paper and the device is letting you know to turn the power off, remove the waste bin, and then invert the shredder and manually remove the waste paper. This means you can again feed paper into it.


Summary

Based on 12 -months ownership, I can say this device is fine for home and office, and when the oiling is done as suggested, the device is very good value. Just be aware that amazon sell it cheaper!

Perfoms exactly as described
I wanted a shredder that not only was capable of dealing with more than 3 sheets at a time, but cross cut & had good reviews. It's hard to find anything like that. This one seemed the best of the bunch.

The price made me hesitate considering you can get £20 ish models but hey, what's the cost when someone pinnches your identity? If I wasn't totaly happy I could return it.

Actually not as noisy as my old 3 page shredder. Dimples CD's effectively to prevent them being read ever again, & gobbles up credit cards with ease, as well as the "up-to-10-sheets" of paper.

I'm very happy with it. Just remember that it will shut down after 3-4 mnutes use to cool off. But as long as you keep up-to-date with your shredding you should have no problems at all.

Quite happy to recommend it.

Noisy
Quite pleased with my purchase, my only gripe is that I expected a quieter machine than the lower priced units when in fact its actually louder as the large collection box tends to amplify the noise of the unit.I am pleased however with the facility to shred more than 3 sheets at once which was the maximum on my old shredder.This one will take 3 times that with ease.

Great shredder
Bought this after my old one started clogging every use and was not shredding properly.
This one shreds very well and is nice and easy to use.
The ability to shred CD's and credit cards could be usefulin the future too.

The collection bin is alos very convenient to useand empty, a good design.

Does what it says on the box
Bought this from Amazon. It came next day on the free delivery option with Amazon prime.

It was very well packaged and took under a minute to assemble, you just have to click the castors into place.

I had a mountain of shredding to do, so got to work. It does manage 10 sheets at a time, but sounds happier chomping its way through 8.

The waste basket is very roomy, much larger than on my old cheap shredder that broke the other day.

So if you want a good looking shredder, that has a large basket and can shred 8 sheets at a time, don't hesitate.

The only negative, check the basket from time to time, if it gets too full you end up with shreddings all over the floor when you pull it out to empty it.

I wondered about knocking a star off for this, but its only common sense at the end of the day.
