A treasured friend.
Its not far of thirty years since the first time i bought this album - one of those brilliant gatefold sleeves and a picture label. Since that i have bought the cd twice. This album is probably not going to make an appearance at your daughters 18th birthday party but there is no question that this is a fantastic piece of music - as one reviewer has called it, 'an old friend'. It has to be listened to as one piece, and although lucky seven is a sort of a black sheep it seems to fit in there just fine. Bill Bruford is mesmerising here as he negotiates multiple time signatures with a crisp, deliberate swagger. The brilliant Chris Squire has written and delivered one of the unique albums of our time with Andrew Jackson providing distinctly english arrangements over jazzy rhythms, great tunes and superb musicianship. Also, Chris' commentary on the dvd is fantastic. Superb stuff!!

The one that got away.
I vowed never to buy a CD of any album I have on vinyl. However, after spending the last 20 years in the loft, I had to rethink that policy if I wanted to hear my 'good stuff' again. br /Some albums I bought straight away; Pink Floyd, Genesis, U2. Others, I mulled over; Gabriel, Police, and recently, Squire. br /I knew what to expect with this one and it didn't let me down. Long tracks, short tracks. Quiet bits, noisy bits. I used to lie in the dark with my headphones on listening to this kind of music. Now, I play it in the car to brighten up an otherwise dull drive to work. br /If you like the ballards of Floyd or Yes, this wont let you down.

Chris Squire - Fish Out Of Water
One of my desert island discs, Fish Out Of Water has stood the test of time and still sounds fantastic. In my opinion it is easily the best of all Yes solo albums, and this new reissue finally does it justice. The remastered sound is full and clear, with gigantic organ stabs and swirling orchestration, great vocals and fluid bass playing. The new packaging is sumptuous, and the 'free' DVD is a must for Chris Squire fans. All in all a great buy. Highly recommended

Briliant Album
What can I say? Bought this album when it first came out (ON VINYL!!!!) back in the mid-70's. A great collection of songs by one of, if not, THE BEST bass guitar players of our time. Crank it up loud, plug in a sub-woofer, turn the lights down low and settle down for a REAL TREAT. br /Hey Chris, when will your second solo offering be coming out? 34 years between albums in a bit of a big gap (Hint Hint). br /If you like Yes, then you will surely love this CD. And the bonus DVD with the 'Authors' comments' film is a real treat. To have a look at how and why these songs came to be is a wonderful insight into the creative processes that go into making a great collection of songs. br /Thanks, and keep on Rockin'....

Thanks for reviews !!
Had this on vinyl since first release, and bought the CD when it first came out. I'm a huge Yes fan, and have bought most of the "Expanded" or "Remastered" versions, most of which are excellent - but I hadn't spotted that Fish out of Water had been done too.... br /Thanks to the reviewers in here, I bought this it came today. br /The DVD that's included is great fun - once I'd got the Frontroom to myself for the evening, I watched the whole thing in one go with a silly grin on my face .. Chris is so "Normal" it's excellent !! br /I'm involved in Music (studio teaching) had done my own attempt at remastering the original CD .. but this release is far superior .. a very nice job indeed. br /The other reviews say it all, regarding the music, it's tracks 1 2 that blow me away everytime. Whole album is excellent. Thanks reviewers for reminding me !!
