Finding her childhood boyfriend Sam running a restaurant, she also finds that he is married. This however does not stop her from telling his wife that she wants to spend time with him....
Sarah Hopson (Valerie Edmond, THE CROW ROAD) is living the high-life in New York City. But she feels her existence is becoming too vacuous and decides to return home to the Scottish Borders. She hopes to find her childhood sweetheart, Sam, perhaps the only man she's ever truly loved. Sam's life fell apart when she left, but is married now. Does he still carry a torch for her
I do not recommend this movie. Her acting is awful. She's annoying, like few other actors I've ever seen. Is someone's desire before dying to annoy others?? The story. She's dying and the only people around her are her dad and her ex-boyfriend who has this jolly face throughout. The movie is slow. The trailer is highly misleading.
I'd like to give some information on the Special Edition DVD of this movie rather than talk about the movie itself since reviews of it can alrady be found at the older version's page. Unfortunately there are still no subtitles but this edition offers a brandnew audio commentary by director Vadim Jean (mainly talking about the technical aspects of the movie making process but nonethelesss interesting), 11 deleted scenes (with our without commentary, 5 of them feature Gerard Butler), and a video from production designer Simon Hicks who unfortunately suffered the same fate as Sarah in the movie and also decided to say goodbye to his family and friends by recording a farewell video. Even if there are not that many extras I do recommend getting this special edition of the movie, especially if you're a Gerry Butler fan, as the deleted scenes are surely worth it, offering among others a funny scene that displays his rarely seen comedic talent.
