Good effort certainly different from mostI started off watching this movie with an open mind because I had read mixed reviews about this film. The film started off believable enough but like any film that involves a mocumentary type approach, you are continually asking yourself "why would you want to video tape something in an appocolyptic", but having decided to make up a few scenarios for this in my head myself I quickly forgave that and moved on with the film. It started quite positive with some journalists going on a quite innocent interview. Which not only made the shaky mocumentary angle believable but also kept my interest. I have to say though once the second and third video "diaries" set in I became a little bored. The film started off well enough and had the movie makers kept that same vain with the journalists struggling for survival keeping making their documentary as best they could the film would have been a lot more entertaining. The acting was a little Ham at times and as the movie went on it started to become apparant that this film was nothing more than some Graduate University students with to much money and time on their Hands. However die Hard fans should be reasonably satisfied, assuming they can forgive the english bad grammer etc, and being british myself made this film slightly more believable. On a personal note I would like to see a Zombie picture that would be more for todays maket. Maybe not even Flesh eating zombies which seems to be the trend and has been done to death, but maybe sticking to the Viral Outbreak which this film successfully touched upon todays trends like "Bird and Swine Flu", perhaps involving more Grosse out scenes rather than someone being ripped limb from limb, also would it be to much to ask for at least one of these films to come up with a happy ending, rather than the over done and typically very Dull "The world ends, the end" type ending. Having said that this film does have its good points, its certainly different from the vast majority of Zombie movies and you do have points where you think ok that would probably actually happen in real life. Ultimately though this film is not that great, it says on the back cover "The most realistic zombie movie ever made", I can't say i agree with that I still think the crown for the best UK Zombie movie ever made so far has to go "Shaun of the Dead". If your a die Hard fan of this genre please give it a watch if not and your just after a good scare keep looking this film isn't for you.

DisappointingWhile lovers of all things zombie can find things to like in this movie, it's ultimately a pretty poor effort.

br /The acting is variable (one guy makes Keanu Reeves look like John Gielgud), the script is flawed and it is difficult to judge as a film as it just comes across as a student film project. So rather than shuddering with fear at the mouldering undead, you find yourelf thinking, "Yowch, that guy is a bad actor. Couldn't they find someone else?" or "Considering they've got a £100 budget these zombies look pretty good!". And that is what is so sad about this film. The film-makers cope admirably with the problems of a low budget; the make-up is great, there are some nice shots of empty streets and so on, and there's even a military incursion (by a real Army platoon!). But where it comes apart is the bit that is unhindered by budget - the script, which is deeply flawed. Of the three stories, the second is ultimately pointless and in none of the stories do you care about (or even get to know) the characters. It also has absolutely nothing new to say about zombies - there is no new take on them, no new perspective. It's taken as read that these are shuffling Romero zombies who are dead and can only be stopped with head shots despite the fact that the zombie plague is caused by some kind of flu virus a la 28 Days Later. And while the SFX are great, the budgetary restrictions do mean you rarely see more than three or four at a time, and "shufflers" aren't exactly scary unless there is a horde of them or as another reviewer said, you are trapped with them in a confined space (and sadly 90% of this film takes place in woodland and fields).

br /Worth watching if you like zombie movies, but really this is something that if an amateur film-maker friend of yours showed you, you'd be impressed by, but judged by "professional" standards is distinctly below par. (That said, it is stil better than the later Romero steadicam-zombie film, "Diary of The Dead", although that is rather damning with faint praise rather than saying anything good about this particular film).

rubbishthe dvd cover pulls you in, don't let it, the movie is awful, even for a zombie movie and i usually don't expect much.too many zombie movies use clever art work on the covers to drag people in, if ya make a cack movie, don't dress it up as an oscar winning movie, be true and honest about it, its cack!

Fantastic! If you enjoyed "Diary of the Dead", then you should also enjoy this movie (released approximately a year earlier).

br /In horror-documentary style, this movie looks on Britain in the grips of Zombie infestation. Dark and gritty, it explores the human side of a Zombie attack, charting the initial reactions, struggle to survive, and the less obvious implications of holing up with the dregs of society in the aftermath of an outbreak.

br /Recommended for anyone who has enjoyed movies/shows such as "Flight of the Dead", "Dead Set", and "The Evil Dead"!

So Bad!!!!!This film is really poorly acted, the writing is terrible and it goes on far too long. Luckily i rented it before i bought it, I suggest you don't do either.
br /It seems to be a film student, and his mates that make up the cast, none of which can act. The Zombies are pretty convincing, but how difficult is it to act Zombie??
br /Rubbish, terrible exposition filled tripe!
