WAYLON AT HIS BEST
The final recorded performance by the great man. Superb music not to be missed........ a fitting farewell! Guest performances from Jessi Colter, John Anderson, Montgomery Gentry and Travis Tritt.... along with an array of musicians second to none. This is country music as it should be!

THIS IS THE SHOW OF A REAL LEGEND
I have most of Waylons albums that were available on vinyl and most of those available on CD even if sadly most had to be imported.I have his autobiography as well ,but this final live set is the absolute cherry on the cake of a great career. The whole show is backed by the band Waylon always said he'd like and with a crack horn section every song takes on a new dimension.Montgomery Gentry were a new name to me by they certainly can sing some.Waylon's wife Jesse Colter shines in her portion with a wonderful version of I'm Not Lisa',lead by her on piano.I could go on and on about this set,but you need to see and hear it that's the only way to get what i mean.I'm not a big counrty fan but here it's not a problem because the music swings along and I feel this along with the DVD/CD set of Bruce Springsteen in Dublin make two of the most enjoyable live sets for some while.Sadly it was Waylons final concert, but boy he left us with one great and classic set by a superstar still at the top of his talent and you can't ask more than that..unmissable.

The Outlaw - Captured LIVE!!
WAYLON JENNINGS THE WAYMORE BLUES BAND br /"Never Say Die: The Final Concert Film" br / br /DVD + 2-CD (Columbia/Legacy) br / br /Arrives in stores July 24, 2007 br / br / br /OVERVIEW: br / br /Do not go gentle into that good night, br /Old age should burn and rave at close of day; br /Rage, rage against the dying of the light. br /- Dylan Thomas br / br /Waylon Jennings, his health failing, played his last major concert at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium in January of 2000. br / br /Backed by the all-star Waymore Blues Band, whom he called "the band I always wanted", his afflictions evaporated on the Ryman stage. br / br /Joined by wife Jessi Colter and guests John Anderson, Travis Tritt and Montgomery Gentry, he delivered a moving, exhilarating performance revisiting some of his greatest songs. While the concert was filmed and recorded, only a truncated single CD appeared at the time. br / br /Now, for the first time, the complete show is available on 2 CDs and DVD!! br / br /It's Waylon's triumphant last hurrah, done -as always- on his terms. br / br /Many legendary country performers, their greatest years behind them, yearn for that one glorious 'Last Hurrah' on stage and/or records that sums everything up - allowing them to go out on top. Cash was among the few to have that good fortune...Waylon was another. Summoning the inner grit and tenacity that sustained him through good and bad times and made him a true innovator, surrounded by loyal, loving musicians and adoring fans, he created this magnificent epilogue to what will remain one of American music's most remarkable careers. br / br /To borrow from what Chet Flippo once wrote: br / br /Once upon a time in country music, there were giants walking the land.... br / br /Waylon Jennings WAS the tallest of them all. br / br / br / br /DVD SET LIST: br / br /Never Say Die br /Medley: Good Hearted Woman / Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys br /Trouble Man br /Medley: Amanda / A Couple More Years br /Waymore's Blues (Special Guest Appearance By John Anderson) br /It's The World's Gone Crazy (Cotillion) br /Love's The Only Chain (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /I'm Not Lisa (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /Storms Never Last (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /Suspicious Minds (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /Closing In On The Fire br /I'm A Ramblin' Man (Special Guest Appearance By Montgomery Gentry) br /Help Me Make It Through The Night br /Havin' A Good Time br /Shakin' The Blues br /Nothing Catches Jesus By Surprise br /Never Been To Spain br /Drift Away br /I've Always Been Crazy (Special Guest Appearance By Travis Tritt) br /Goin' Down Rockin' br /The Weight br /Can't You See br / br /DVD BONUS FEATURES: br / br /· The complete concert in brand new Stereo and 5.1 mixes br /· Exclusive 30 minute featurette with never-before-seen rehearsal footage and interviews conducted in 2000 with Waylon, Jessi, Bobby Bare, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Chet Atkins, Richie Albright and many others br / br /Total DVD Running Time: Approx. 2 hours br / br / br /AUDIO TRACK LISTING: br / br /CD One br / br /Never Say Die br /(Waylon Jennings) br / br /Medley: Good Hearted Woman/Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys br /Good Hearted Woman (Waylon Jennings/Willie Nelson) br /Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys (Ed Bruce/Patsy Bruce) br / br /Trouble Man br /(Waylon Jennings/Tony Joe White) br /(Previously Unreleased) br / br /Medley: Amanda/A Couple More Years br /Amanda (Bob McDill) br /A Couple More Years (Shel Silverstein/Dennis Locorriere) br / br /Waymore's Blues (Special Guest Appearance By John Anderson) br /(Waylon Jennings/Curtis Buck) br / br /It's The World's Gone Crazy (Cotillion) br /(Waylon Jennings/Shel Silverstein) br /Previously Unreleased br / br /Love's The Only Chain (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /(Jessi Colter) br /Previously Unreleased br / br /I'm Not Lisa (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /(Jessi Colter) br / br /Storms Never Last (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /(Jessi Colter) br / br /Suspicious Minds (Special Guest Appearance By Jessi Colter) br /(Mark James) br /Previously Unreleased br / br /Closing In On The Fire br /(Tony Joe White) br / br / br /CD Two br / br /I'm A Ramblin' Man (Special Guest Appearance By Montgomery Gentry) br /(Ray Pennington) br / br /Help Me Make It Through The Night br /(Kris Kristofferson) br /Previously Unreleased br / br /Havin' A Good Time br /(Waylon Jennings) br /Previously Unreleased br / br /Shakin' The Blues br /(Waylon Jennings) br /Previously Unreleased br / br /Nothing Catches Jesus By Surprise br /(Waylon Jennings/Tom Douglas) br / br /Never Been To Spain br /(Hoyt Axton) br / br /Drift Away br /(Mentor Williams) br / br /I've Always Been Crazy (Special Guest Appearance By Travis Tritt) br /(Waylon Jennings) br / br /Goin' Down Rockin' br /(Tony Joe White/Leann White) br / br /The Weight br /(Robbie Robertson) br /Previously Unreleased br / br /Can't You See br /(Toy Caldwell) br / br / br /CREDITS: br / br /Original Album Credits: br / br /Musicians: br /Drums - Richie Albright br /Keys, Vocals - Barny Robertson br /Fiddle, Cello - Jenny Lynn br /Electric Guitar, Vocals - Waylon Jennings br /Lead Guitar - Reggie Young br /Bass Guitar - Jerry Bridges br /Acoustic Rhythm Guitar, Vocals - Rance Wasson br /Piano, Vocals - Jessi Colter br /Steel Guitar, Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar, Vocals - Robby Turner br /Vocals - Carter Robertson br / br /Jim Horn and The Wailin' Waylon Horns: br /Tenor, Alto Sax, Flute - Jim Horn br /Trombone - Charles Rose br /Trumpet - Steve Herrman br / br /Produced by Waylon Jennings and Blake Chancey br / br /Recorded by Bob Wright Live at the Ryman Auditorium, Assisted by Stan "Quack!"
